Is anyone going to watch?

I used to watch when it was on the Discovery Channel the first few seasons. Never really cared for their work, etc, etc.

I watched it for pure entertainment value, as the fights between JR and SR were fantastic, and Mikey just being....well.......Mikey.

I haven't watched the show since it moved to TLC, so can't see the angle it went.

Admittedly, one of the bikes was cool. I liked the one they did for FDNY. That was a nice bike.

I've seen some of the bikes in person and I have actually met them before. They are make the beast with two backsing assholes except for Mikey. I have a picture somewhere.

My wife, while bartending in Daytona, met them as well at a different time. Said the only nice one was Mikey. She shot the shit with him at the bar while he got shit faced.

Now I hear they are in some huge legal dispute over money and JR is opening his own shop.

I agree that what started out as a neat show with humorous drama has turned into one incredible example of how dysfunctional one family can be; especially where money is concerned. Top that off with nearly every OCC thread on the forum here being turned into a "bash'em" thread, and I totally agree with you.

I have the first 2 seasons on DVD - neat stuff they were doing back then. But by the end of the second season, the arguing was beginning to annoy me. I still like the show as it was then though.

I would watch the series finale just to see how they are able to wrap things up. Hopefully it will be available online (Hulu) or something since I rarely get to see any scheduled programming.

Thanks for posting up  [thumbsup]

Edit - saw a clip during lunch for the finale and it looks like Sr. won't be in it - there's a brief segment where Jr. is saying that it's unfortunate that his father couldn't be a part of it.

No.

Like I mentioned in the other thread on this, since Jr has been gone Rick and Co. have been making some really sick looking bikes that I like more than any of the whole series. I hope he gets to keeping making cool bikes or at least gets some good money out of the deal.

I think they decided to stick with what they knew: Ugly bikes that go slow and don't corner.

Well, out of morbid curiosity (and lack of anything much better on the tube) I watched the big finale.

Really? No heart felt moments, not even one last argument for old time sake??

Well it was filmed back in November . . . probably didn't know at the time.  They did throw in the conversation with Sr. and Rick in the shop about how things aren't what they used to be.  Sucks that the last theme bike they made for the show was that Kobalt bike; if it were me I would have been pissed when they brought in schematics for what they wanted.

And Mikey was in rehab for alcohol, but he's out now.  I hope he actually does do some standup successfully, he's got a funny bone.

BTW, what is the deal regarding the ownership of those theme bikes?  When I visited OCC they had the Livestrong, NASA, Giants, Gillette Mach3, and other bikes there . . . don't the companies keep them?  Or they get it on consignment for a bit and don't actually keep the thing?

Maybe they can have a reunion show on Jerry Springer (get it?  Springer?).
