In that case disregard my comment.   ;D

My previous boyfriend was a heavy smoker, I'd definitely take bacon breath over that. ;)

what about buffalo steaks breath?

bison (american buffalo) have like 50% less fat and usually are grass fed, so much healthier than grain fed cows.  bovines naturally eat mostly grass anyhow.

tastes stronger but better imho.

pisses off vegans even more.

I never judge or comment on other people's food choices.  I do think it would be nice if others could extend the same courtesy to me.

?   :)

that one part was a wry comment.  i don't imagine it would make any difference to someone if it was a cow or a buffalo at issue.

i eat vegetables too... i'm an equal opportunity eater.   [popcorn]

Sorry, that wasn't a specific response to that particular comment, just the general intolerance that I see.

I did date a girl a loooong ago that was vega-something.  She was realy nice.  People always gave her a hard time over it, made me mad.  You have to respect peoples' beliefs.

My very good buddy married a vegan, and went over to her side because he loved her that much.  I always thought that was pretty damn cool.

On the other hand, my ex grew up in Kentucky on cattle ranch, and I have hard evidence that she was a bona fide vampire . . . hmmm.   [roll]

I dated a Vegan for a half a year.  This was in my early, early 20's.  She was a super freak in teh sac  [evil] and in the head :P .  (crazy red-heads :-*  [bang] )

Anyways, she didn't mind me at all eating animals and such.  She even made a surprise dinner for me- Chicken.  It didn't turn out that good, but I was definitely surprised and appreciated the effort  [thumbsup]

That's all I have to contribute to this thread.

My wife's been a vegatarian for 20+ years and really has no issues with me eating anything other than young animals. Which really is of no concern to me. It also keeps me eating a bit healthier than I would on my own. Knowing her lifesyle (all other things being equal) she'll outlive me.

I've tried to give up on meat but it's a no-go. In the last two years I have been able to significantly cut down on my meat intake and often have salads for lunch.

Subconciously I'm trying to outlive her and prove her wrong. The ultimate long term arguement. [laugh]

to the vegan intolerance issue.
the only time i have problems with them is when they are militant. i have the same problem with people who are that way about any belief. that is when i take great joy in pissing them off to the point they are ready to fight me. i'm not telling you to eat meat, don't tell me that i shouldn't (esp if it's one of the hippy "don't kill the cute animals" type)
i have know a few of these types through my life. one of which got angry that i was punching a tree absentmindedly while waiting for a friend. she told me i couldn't hear the trees scream so i asked her if she could. when she said yes i told her she needed to see a psychiatrist because she's hearing things. after that i hardly ever saw her again.

i tried going vegetarian for a while to see if it actually made me healthier. i didn't notice a real difference except my hair and nails didn't grow as fast. ohh and i craved red meat. now i just try to balance it all out. i have cut back on the red meat and eat more chicken and pork. now if i could only get the "healthy" recipes to taste good  :)
