I masked off the Ducati Performance logo on mine prior to painting.

I guess a reverse vinyl sticker could also be applied prior to painting or applying the tint.  Or maybe even mask off and paint different designs/shapes/etc, kind of like on RC Shells which have the stickers and paint applied to the inside of the clear body shell.  (Not sure if that last sentence makes sense)

any trouble from the police with a painted screen?  I ask because I have a buddy with a ZX14 that has a red windscreen and he got a ticket one day for a 'tinted windshield' or some crap.
My fast lap is your sighting lap.

Been stopped before but they never even mentioned the screen.  Hell, I would probably have to lay my head sideways on the tank to get my eyes at that level.  Even when I am fully tucked I am still looking over the screen.

I just had to change my pants after looking at that RS4.  I would do illegal things for that car and trade body parts for an RS6 avant.

That's a lot of work - wrapping a car in vinyl.

DucatiTorrey

yeah,do a google search, there are more pics

RS4 avant matte

yeah but then its just black. TEHO

Yeah, but then again you ride a 696. TEHO

:P

DucatiTorrey

whats wrong with a 696? sure it doesn't have all the bling, but its my first bike. Probably a hell of a lot cooler than most other peoples first bike. And hell, aren't we all Ducati enthusiasts? its hard to imagine so many people can hate a bike so heavily that is made by the same manufacturer.

it's not that all Ducati's are great (Indiana)... in fact some had a lot of issues (906 Paso anyone)... and others' style didn't warm peoples hearts (Indiana or Paso again), but they are each a work of Italian passion.

I personally don't like ragging on anyone's ride because to each their own. My personal experience with bikes let me say the first gen Monster (a city version) handled horribly and led to my first accident with a massive tank slapper.

Style is subjective. and despite some people being a bit  too harsh with their words, and for that i get testy, i could care less if someone doesn't like the new Monster or any other bike I like (Paso again).
But attack me or be rude to me about my bike or my opinion..not cool

Thanks Raux. I agree completely. I honestly fell in love, and still love the style of the new monsters. The "old" style is cool, and is what I fell in love with 5 or so years ago, before I ever imagined I would even own a bike. I do get envious of their bling, but you know, I like the new style more. Someday I'll have an 1100. And you know what, F them. My bike is my bike. I need to stop worrying what people say on this entire website. I'm gonna do what I want. My bike is the shit.

I think you missed the point being made about someone who makes comments such as "...but then it's just black" getting his feelings hurt when someone makes a similar comment like "but then you ride a 696."  The point being: Don't dog on the guy for painting his screen black if you can't handle getting dogged yourself.  But, I could be wrong.

You're talking to a lot of long time (classic) monster enthusiasts here.  Ducati radically changed something that was seen by many here as perfect (as a starting point) so it may take time and some really well done new style bikes to persuade some here, others will still talk shit  ;D
Every bike I've ever owned.

i just kind of figured the point of the thread was tinting your stock windscreen, as in, "I can't believe I was the first to 'tint' my stock windscreen"

I new people spray painted them, and that wasn't what I wanted to do

Picked up my tint today and am in the process of getting started on my windscreen tinting. I'll take some pics of the process and post them up when I'm done

Anyone know the size of the TINY Torx screws that hold the windscreen on???
