It's a good deal, until I hit that "will not ship" part.  DC is about 7 hours one way for me, so by the time it got back here I'd have at least 1k in it :(

Thanks though!  And if there is someone local that would look at/stick in a box/ship it........ [thumbsup]

edit----  guy sounds like he "might" be interested in the hassle of shipping it.  Does anyone know what the weight of a 2v motor is?

those two pics ........the yellow and blue bikes, are they the same bike repained. Look the same to me but I could be wrong. a lot of the compnentry looks the same.

146 lb give or take

put it in one of those big plastic containers makes shipping easy.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

The yellow and blue Radical Ducati bikes could be the same bike.  The engines look identical.  The exhausts are different.  Mirrors different and a few other little things.  Could just be similar builds built for different customers.

I just want to know how hard it is to match up the superbike frame to the 2V engine and swingarm.  Monsters have the swingarm bearings in the engine cases.  SuperBikes have the bearings in the swingarm.  So as long as you are using a compatible swingarm for the 2V engine this won't be a problem.  Can we assume the 2V engine bolts into the 999 Superbike frame?

I'm just outside of the D.C. area (about an hour west).  Let me know if you still need help.  I could go into D.C. to look at or ship the engine and then spend the night with some friends I've been meaning to catch up with.

2V will bolt up to a SBK frame....they all use the same mounting bosses to my knowledge.

I'll be using a swingarm from a monster, so the swinger will bolt up as well. 


I'm waiting to hear back from the seller on him crating the thing up and having UPS pick it up.  If he won't do it, I would be VERY GRATEFUL if you could/would do something like that for me.  I've already found a set of 41mm FCR's, and located some big bore pistons for it. [thumbsup]

You mentioned needing a fairing and a headlight...

I have a couple of crashed Sharkskinz uppers from SS bikes. One of those judiciously trimmed and a projector type headlamp would be minimalistic but adequate for a track/weekend twisty bike.

Any progress, getting that 1K? 
This thread and all the 2v sbk pictures I've been looking up have me wanting to do a similar project, found a trashed HM1100 :)

BTW, the 916/SS I posted above is now being parted out on ebay  :-[

Guy is getting back to me on shipping it  [thumbsup]  We worked out how to send payment, so as long as we can get it shipped somehow, I think it's mine :)

Think I've decided if I can get it, to try and find a oem jug and piston, and put it back together stock bore for the time being. 

Now I'm trying to decide what wheels to use, swingarm, etc.  I've got a 999 rear wheel (but it's bare) and a like new set of pirelli diablos that came off the 05 I just parted out.

Other thought....using a single front rotor like the bike pictured above, for "added" lightness.

Shame that the 916/ss is being parted out.  I've spoken with that guy several times on the .ms board.  I thought he bought it back???
