Highly recommended! I put one on my M1100S with the DP ECU, so not only was I off by 10-percent but I was running KPH. The Speedo Healer unit compensated for both, and according to all the radar signs around here I am now dead-on.

Just for reference, the wiring is the same as the Aprilia colors. The documentation that I had did not have (yet) the Ducati wiring colors.

I thought they had a plug and play unit.  You had to cut/splice wires?  If that is necessary, I'll live with doing a little computing in my head.  He11, it will probably help ward dementia anyway.

^^ Yeah, what Raux said.

I of course meant to say that the speedo reads higher than actual.....  so everybody'd be passing you rather than the other way around.  Sorry for adding to the confusion.

Ah-hah! Showing higher than I m actually going I can live with!

I had a speedohealer on my R6 after I changed the sprockets.  It was plug and play, dialed it in to the radar displays around town.
Every bike I've ever owned.

a cheap alternative would be a Sigma bicycle computer mounted to the bars or elsewhere (many other brands won't work reliably at MC speeds).  They use a 4 digit user input factor to calculate speed so can be very accurate, also gives you max/avg speed, timers, tripmeters, etc...

Yes, they have plug and play for the Japanese sicles, but not most European bikes. You get a "universal" wiring kit. In fairness to the Speedo Healer folks, it was a bit of pregnant dog to install on the Monster - not too many places to hide things! But, it is a bullet-proof unit once installed, and while I could compensate in my head for 10-percent the KPH to MPH really threw me for a loop.

Officer: The speed limit is 45 MPH. Do you know how fast you were going, Sir?
Me     : Well, my speedo said 85...

I didn't follow your link to see if those instructions are correct; but yes, you can switch back and forth between mph & km/h.  When I bought my m1100 the dealer had to install a new battery in the bike for me because the one in the bike barely turned the engine over.  With the new battery in place, we started the bike and I rode it around the parking lot then loaded it into my truck for the trip home (couldn't find anyone to give me a lift the 80 miles to the dealer when I picked up the bike).  When I got home I found the speedo was displaying km/h so I called the dealer and they walked me through the process to get it to read mph.  Apparently it resets when you remove the battery?

Anyway, back to the subject of the Speedo Healer; if I have to cut and splice then I'm not going to do it.  Plus, I was wondering how hard it would be to hide the unit.  Thanks for that info Howellerman.

Guess I should have followed the link first.  Seems maybe the ecu being replaced resets to the EU reading?  When I bought my bike the dealer had already installed the Termi "race" kit which includes the DP ecu.
