Hey everyone,

I've been searching high and low on the internet over the last few years trying to find some reference to a collectible Star Trek model that I acquired many years ago from Star Trek III but haven't even come across a single webpage or image of it.

Here it is:

I'd really like to be able to know the value of it - it's in C10 condition, no crumpled corners and even still wrapped in the original plastic.

If anyone has any idea about it, please post up! Thanks!

Ok, fist of all I had to Google who that was - then it was suddenly not funny and certainly not true.

Besides, if you had something in the back of your closet gathering dust that could be worth some moola wouldn't you want to know??!!

You're telling me that w/all the Trekkie-geeks on the intarwebz, you can't find ANYTHING about this model?!?

I dunno, but me thinks your searchin' could use some expandin'...

(and good luck!  I hope it's worth a bundle!)

The Trekkers won't give him the time of day because he doesn't know that actual name of the "typical font" used for Star Trek III.  Okay, I don't know the actual name either, but you know it's got one.  Probably something like "Terrian Sans Serif III"

Those Trekkers are ruthless.  You show any ignorance of the Trek canon and they cuss you out in Klingon and threaten to send you off to places with names like "Glutteous Remus IV".

[laugh] You guys crack me up!

It's true though, I haven't found anything about it and I've searched Ebay, and all over the internet. It's a mystery which is why I am so curious. I may be worth a ton, or then again it may be worth nothing at all, but because I can't find anything about it, my curiosity is perked.

Who knows, I could have the holy grail of Star Trek models and not even know it....

...but then again....probably not.

No, I just checked again. In fact, that was the best reference page that I have come across in my searching.

Nada.

Alright, well I finally decided to contact AMT/Ertl now inquire directly with them. I was surprised that I actually received a response before the end of the day yesterday. They told me to send them the UPC number that is on the box via email and that they would send me the information on it. Hopefully I'll find that it's some amazing find!

Monster Dave

Ok, so I sent the UPC codes as well as the others over the AMT/Ertl and even they can't find anything about this item. It seems that at the time that the model was made, Ertl was a subsidary of a company called Kidde Inc which no longer exists (as I can tell) and the party line is that "because of the large number of toys RC2 has produced since 1946, we are unable to compile a thorough reference of our product line."

What company doesn't keep a history of the items that they have made/sold??

Fortunately, I was given the names of a few people to contact who publish the price/value guides for various RC2 (AMT/Ertl) items.

I'm just amazed at how much of a hunt this has turned into!

List it on eBay and you'll find out what it's worth.  ;)
