There is usually still a clear coat, its just an Eggshell clear as opposed to a full gloss clear.
Not on the Monster Darks, and I doubt on the 848.

They are a single stage system.

Also they skip a step in prep because the low gloss paint doesn't show the normal irregularities of manufacture.

ok waiting for the first person to get one of these and really make it dark. darken the rearsets (removing the pillion set), windscreen, forks, triples, exhausts and swingarm.

Have a couple of them at Ducati Scottsdale.  One already has the black swingarm on it. 

That bike is beautiful but the one that REALLY caught my eye was the 1198S that a woman just traded her Bayliss in for.

Yep, if only I had the $. This bike is my ultimate dream bike.

I would darken every possible part for sure.
620M 2004 Dark i.e.; ~ 57K miles (all me);  Looking to swap out engine now.
Triumph Speed Triple 2006 (now ~ 44K miles bought @ 4K miles on 04/2010)
Honda Grom 2015 ~ 3500miles so far.  Love this lil bike

I could be happy with one on the road and even though there would lots of times that both of us would be totally miserable I'd still be happy. If worse came to worse I'd just knock back some beers and look at it in the garage.
