The first run of the season has started! My favorite time of year in DC. Went out on Friday out of North East, MD and hammered the yellow perch.....


That's Angus Phillips the (retired) Washington Post outdoor columnist to the right of me.

Filleted half and left the other half whole, which I grilled tonight!

Are you talking about the UP?  I love that place, went up every summer as a kid now just every few years.  My family has a cabin on a small lake about 15 miles west of Munising.

I've heard of Munising.  That's WAYYY up by Michigan Tech!

To Michiganders..anything north of your location (no matter where you are in the state) is considered "up north".   ;) 

My mom just left here (PHX) last week to move back to MI..Drummond Island to be exact.  WTF?  Still winter back there. 



Anyway, fish & chips sound good!!
