Hi again everyone, I've been hibernating but again the sunshine has come out and here I am. Hope everyone had a good winter.

So here I am with my wonderful custom tank on the bike and my limited edition Matrix tank sitting on a shelf in my garage, I'd like to take it out of the garage and put it somewhere it can be appreciated. Since I am a fan of the movies, at least the first one, and I think the fact it's a factory limited edition is extremely cool, I'd like to find a tasteful way to display the tank in my apartment. I'll need to buy an aftermarket gas cap for it, any suggestions on that please feel free to post links, I also would like to get a ding removed but not sure if paintless dent removal will work on the metal. I had PDR done to my car door and it worked great, but it's a thinner panel from what I understand, anyone know about PDR on a Monster tank?

The ding is small enough that I don't really care. I am just trying to think, once I get a cap on it and clean it up nice, what's a good way to display it? Maybe there is no need for a display case, I guess I won't know until I clean it up and place it in the apartment somewhere that looks tasteful... Wall mount would possibly be cool but not sure how, even string from the ceiling close to a wall might work. any ideas? Anyone else display unique parts? Hoping for some pics or ideas...

In that case, just hang your own beloved Monster on the wall and get a new one!!  [cheeky]

if the room you want it in has a wall with a hallway parallel to it...

cut tank in half.

put one half in the hall, the other in the room on the wall opposite of the tank half in the hall.

   tank ->    (|)

IMO if there is a wall like teddy said id just put a hole in the wall and put in a lighted plexiglass box. Then you can enjoy it inside and outside, if thats an option that is. if not, mounting it vertically would be cool, under some florescent lights... even better if you can put a bladder inside and the fuel drain holes as a sort of tap for beer, or other beverage (maybe run lines behind it for the same appearance...

IIRC, Juan took a monster tank and made it into the base of a coffee table with a glass top.  Looked cool.   [thumbsup]

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

That's a cool idea - then it looks like it was made into the wall!

do you have a kitchen island? do you have room for one? do you want one?
build a cart out of metal and plexiglass with rollers that lock, build a mount for the tank and place inside the cart. use the cart as a kitchen island and whenever you're in the kitchen admire the tank.

Love to see pics of this...

Unfortunately I rent so I can't punch holes through walls... I like the ideas of glass with florescent though.

I don't have any pics, but I hope I'm remembering it correctly.  I sent Juan a PM with a link to this thread.  He's not on the DMF every day like he used to be on TOB.
