Are you aware that NC has the most roads of any state in the nation? More than Texas. More than California. More than any other state, larger or smaller.

Are you aware that you are wrong?  :) Actually just a bit confused. Counties in NC don't maintain any roads, thus the State does, thus NC has the largest State maintained system in the US. This just means the State takes care of more roads in NC. Other States makes the Cities/Counties take care of their roads. Texas and California are #1 and #2 with most miles of road.

Austin has my vote.  Alot more diversity and more interesting IMO.

You're wrong...

this is your opinion to say don't bother replying and don't not necessarily fact. ;)

What did I say that wasn't factual? Do you live in NC? Do you pay NC taxes? Do you pay NC sales tax? Do you pay NC gas tax? Do you travel daily on NC highways? Yes? No? Pretty sure I'm RIGHT...  No opinions here. But since you decided to push my button again let me take this opportunity to say don't bother replying to this post and don't bother threatening me with being banned because as of today I am no longer going to associate myself with this board. Granted, I met some awesome people on this board but one certain moderator helped make my decision for me. I'm tired of reading threads that are started with the best intentions only to be bullied or locked by the one and only ducpainter. Catch you guys later!

I do all those things, and I disagree with you. It's ok to have opinions, you obviously feel strongly about it, and I can see your point, but it's not a fact.

I was about to lock and/or edit stuff for the political ranting but that bully ducpainter beat me to it....and was nicer about it.

love it when people run off in a huff.   Why can't people just go quietly?

I kinda doubt that's the case.

I live in TX now, and grew up in TN/NC. They are very much the same EXCEPT for geography/topography. DFW is flat as a pancake. NC is gorgeous.

I'm a basketball fan more than a football fan, and that leaves NC more desirable for other entertainment. I can't really say anything bad about Texas, just that its no different than Tennessee, other than there's more tex-mex food than standard mexican food, and north texas is quite flat (a la West Tennessee). Being in the "big city", there are certainly more Ducati events, moto shops, things the wife likes, etc.

go to NC....we're full in TX  :P

just kidding. TX is a great place to live.

if you get go west/southwest of austin, you'll get some very twisty and hilly areas. Great moto riding. It's also very hilly out here where I live (west of DFW). I'll have to video some riding out here. It's no tail of the dragon, but it's not straight either!

Funny how the opinions vary here.'

I have literally lived all over the country and have good things to say about all the places I've lived - all of em.

The Southeast is my pic for quality of life, living expense, overall weather and a whole bunch of other stuff.

I am from and live in the Northwestern corner of SC.  I have also lived up in NC and think it's a great state to live in. The southern Appalachians Mts. aren't too far from Greensboro.  The mountains are like the Garden of Eden with a race track running through it. The coast if super too.
