Need to find a good place to get tune up, mod, and parts for Ducati Monster around Los Angeles and Orange County area. TIA.

LA and OC are 2 very big areas. You're willing to travel to either end of either one?

Out in the OC, Spectrum guys treated me well. Rob can seem like a dick or just plain indifferent or curt sometimes but he knows his shit and you'll get the right stuff. No experience w/ Newport or Brea for me.

If you need bodywork or paint, I know a guy that does decent work for the cost in Fullerton.

In LA, Glendale was overpriced on parts, no first hand maintenance experience. Del Amo =  [bang]. Nick, a board member does good work in Reseda.
ErkZ NOT in SLO w/ his '95 m900!
The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

Another +1 for Spectrum.  They did my 600 mile service for only $160 (other shops wanted ~$240).  Allen (service manager) was easy going and free of bullshit. A good guy to deal with.

If Rob is the guy in the parts department, then yeah... I'd have to agree with erkishhorde.  He's that way for sure but will get you what you need.

The Shit= Scott Waters at Motoservizio is awesome.

Top notch service from a well respected, knowledgeable factory trained Ducati mechanic.

Just walk into the shop and take a look..... [bow_down]

Anybody has FHE with Ducati dealers in Brea and Newport Beach? Thanks.

Spectrum was lackluster before but will no doubt move way up in ranks now: http://www.spectrum-motorsports.com/

My personal experience:

Newport:  Seems their sales guys are former used car salesmen.  When I told them I'm shopping around, they asked which dealers.  For every dealer I named, they would talk smack about the sales person/team at that shop.  Once we got down to business, they tried to nickle and dime me and tried to set me up for a rip off interest rate.  The actual finance manager was pretty cool and so was one other guy working in service, its not like they are all bad.  And again, ymmv.

Brea:  Cool folks and genuinely friendly.  Prices are higher than other places, especially for service/parts.

ProItalia in Glendale has really stepped up their game in the Service dept.

It looks like they made some changes (for the better).

I got my 12,000 mi service at Moto Servizio in Signal Hill he was very reasonable and my bike never ran better than when I got it back.  Great guy and worth the wait.

Brea Ducati is real close to me.  I buy small parts from them (crush washers and such) so it's not worth it for me to drive down to Newport or Irvine.  Drive 20 miles to save 50 cents?

My personal experience:
I've had my bike there for service twice.  First time was just new tires.  Months later when we were at the Flight Cycles Tech Day, we discovered that the spacer on my rear axle was installed backwards and slowly grinding away at the swing arm.  So two scenarios: it could've been like that from the start (I wasn't first owner), but they should've reinstalled it correctly; Or, they installed it wrong.  Take your pick.  Either way a miss on their part.

Second experience was a crash repair.  Typical low-side damage:  tank, bars, clutch lever, pegs, cans, touch up the fender and rear cowl.  Ordered my parts, most of it came in, a few things were back ordered.  That took about 4 weeks.  Another two weeks for the other things.  They start putting my bike back together and surprise, wrong color tank.  Not their fault that the wrong one arrived, but why did it sit there for almost 2 months without someone checking to make sure it was the right color?  Took another week to get the right tank.  In the time it took to get the right tank, the price on it went up a couple hundred dollars negating any savings I would have realized on switching to the Leo Vince pipes instead of paying $800 for 1 OEM can.  Got home and a couple days later I found things charged on my final invoice that were not installed on my bike.  Gave me a store credit for that.

They're good guys, and real nice and personable.  That said, I take my bike to Nick for service, and an independent shop owned by an acquaintance for tires and other random stuff.  Do my own oil changes.  I'm going to attempt my own valve and belt service next time (Paging Christopher Price, paging Mr Christopher Price to the white courtesy phone.)

Hope that helps.
My fast lap is your sighting lap.

First of all thanks for the feedbacks.

Used to work and live in SF Valley but moved to O.C. in mid 80. Isn't Nick in Encino or somewhere in the Valley? That will be a long ride from O.C. to get service.

Any other Ducati riders that have FHE with service at MotoServizio in Signal Hill or other Ducati shops in O.C.?

+1 on Spectrum & Moto Seervizio [thumbsup]

Spectrum handled all my warranty work without complaint & never said no even though I never purchsed any service there.

Scott @ Moto Servizio did my 6K & a tire change.  Great job, fair price & cool shop..... you just need to operate on his time.  If you are flexible, tell him & he'll take care of you.  If you're in a hurry, go elsewhere.

If you can't get to Speeddog then Moto Servizio is an excellent option.  Just plan out your service in advance and don't get hurt feelings if you don't get a return call right away. He is a one man show. Once your bike is with Scott he will turn it around quickly and get your Ducati purring like a kitten.

Top notch service and very fair pricing.
Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.
