Anyone here running Pilot Pure tires?

I have a set coming this week and want some opinions. I've used regular Pilot's and the 2ct's. I'll post up a review with pics once I get them on and Canyon tested.  [moto]

Assuming it's for the RS, what size are you going with and whats the pricing compared to the 2ct's. Looks like i'll be needing new tires soon. Enjoy the test ride

I got them for $259 shipped. You can find them on ebay for the same price too.

Ok, I got these bad boys mounted and broken in. My first impression was that the rear tire looked thinner than the 2ct while off of the wheel...now mounted it looks to be about the same size. They are pretty light too. In mounting them the front tire seems to be a little wider/rounded compared to the 2ct. The rear also has a rounder profile as apposed to the cone shape. I'm not sure if this is with every tire but with the front, I was able to push the tread down and side to side while mounted. I almost thought I needed more air, but it was fine. Very soft tread from what I can feel.

Once in the canyons I noticed the turn in was not as quick as before, but it was very stable. I was able to break them in very quick with no slippage. I have about a 1/4 of an inch left on both sides on my first run. I should know more once I push her harder on a warmer day. For now I like the feel...and they look pretty cool. Peace.

I'll be keeping my eye out also.
Have Super Corsa Pro's currently but I'll need new hoops soon.
Love to Pro's but they don't give much in wet weather very skatey.

As soon as my front tire is done, I think I am going with a Pilot Pure. Hopefully it will get along with my Road 2 rear.

That's odd about the turn in as the PP are superposed to be lbs. lighter which drastically reduces your un sprung weight making the gyro affect on steering a lot less which should mean much easier steering. Maybe with  the rounder profile you don't get the feeling of the bike "dropping" into the turn. Please keep the feed back coming I've been using nothing but Mich. for the last 7 years on the race bikes and street bikes I never found a better tire for wear & grip. There is a great write up in the May issue of roadracing world mag. on the PP the guys testing loved em.

I don't think it's necessarily true of the rest of the Michelin line, so a rounder profile would indeed slow turn in.

Did you read the review in RR ? I'm pretty sure the new tire is about 1.5LBS lighter then the 2CT front. I'll dig out the mag. and re-read it.

My Bridgestone Battlax 016's went for one ride too many today.....  lol....  @ 6880 kms the rear tyre's steel belt exposed itself  !!   Most of my riding is on twisties too, I wonder how soon the rear tyre would have done its centre if the bike spent the majority of its time bolt-upright?  The sides of the front tyre are absolutely scrubbed to buggery too......   Great tyres, stuck like shit to a blanket...... but 6880 kms is too few.

Monday, Michelin Power Pure's go on ($259 a pair..?!!?  , Down Here I get me a pair for around $450 fitted - and thats a good price too).
