My 996 is now a dedicated track toy.  Anyone know what I have to do to stop paying the registration fee every year?

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

just register it as planned non op

yup.  then it's either no reg fee, or super cheap.. i can't remember if i pay anything for mine.

but registered as non-op still means it's registered.  as in, you can still insure it for theft etc
Like this is the racing, no?

another benefit of PNO (which BTW, is like $10/year) is that it eases the sale. Keep the original plastics/lights/blinkers/etc. People like bikes with paperwork. It'll be well worth the few bucks per year.

OK, so PNO it is...Thanks.

I'm not planning to insure it, since it is either in my garage or on the track.  If I ever sell it, it will be as parts, since it is already salvage title.  The wheels are worth way more than the rest of it...

isn't that a reason to insure it?

As others have said, PNO. Just don't ever park it on a public street as it would be subject to tow.

I would suggest you get comprehensive insurance - it covers the bike for theft and/or natural damage such as flood/fire/etc.

I paid like $60 a year for that.  When you call up the insurance co. just tell them you will be "storing" the bike.

Cheap piece of mind.
