If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

We actually get that a lot. Most people think we're brother and sister. And yes, we do understand that being with each other is just a reflection of our own vanity  ;) ;D

Funny thing, I was just saying how I missed the board and we need to post up. We're alive and ticking just busy/sick/etc. El Mat dislocated his shoulder a couple times last month and is too disabled to ride so he's been cheating on you guys with a forum for the one thing he can still ride: our truck.

Forget you guys; how's the truck?  ;D (We're FJ60 shopping ourselves at the moment...)

It's been awesome, the only thing keeping me sane during these bikeless months.

Let me know what you are looking for, there are some pretty ridiculous deals to be had right now. I can help you find the one right for you.

Deals are good!  Right now, the trick is timing -- We'd need to sell our only car (or one of the bikes) to make it work, or sell it and go carless for a while as we wait for the right truck to come on the market (an option, but not as easy with a non-driving teenage daughter).

The most likely route right now is this:

(with the distortion from my cell phone camera, it kinda looks like a FJ70, doesn't it?)

A guy near us has been trying half-heartedly to sell this truck for a year now; I looked it over pretty closely in March of 2009, did a compression check (right & tight on all 6) and it needs some love & new springs, but is generally solid. Back when I lived in the DC area, we'd talk in hushed tones about the mythical "Arizona Truck" with no rust; well, now I live in Arizona!  ;D

I plan to take another look at it to see if I missed anything major when I last drove it & inspected it, put some good faith money down on it while we sell the RAV4, then put some of that cash into the truck, new suspension & the rest into the bank.

Oh, and if money were no object, it'd look like this (well, without the rust):

Something about the FJ55 just makes me happy -- that, and I can't quite help picturing Godzilla's foot hanging over it in a black & white movie still...

Btw thanks for the love doubleeagle - we can't all hate on the mane...even if I can agree it needs a little trim because I'm sick of always having hair in my face eh hem

I saw the mane and my first though was "sweet Jesus" it's gotten long.... then I though about what I'd just thought.  [laugh]

I'm suddenly feeling confused and conflicted.  [cheeky]
