My next bike will be a super moto

I'v always wanted on. Something to hold me over till I can afford a Streetfighter. Keen on the KTM, Husq. Thought's, opinions, what else is out there? Just watched a sweet SM510 go low on Ebay. Damn I hate being broke.

Thats one of my favorite SMs. Those husky sure are pretty, ive heard mixed things about maintenance on them though.

hows the parting of the bike going?

Slowly but surely, most of the small stuff is sold. If I could just move these new forks and the engine, I'll be sitting great. There goes $8K down the drain. Live and learn, with a flat wallet.

Too many opportunities  to haul some nice trim.....

First option would be a VibeRider in the passenger seat...

Watch out for the 510 i know they had some issues with cranks snapping, that was two years ago so they may have fixed it. I was looking for one a few years back but was put off for the money. Best bet is probably to look around thumper talk for a good deal.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

Good idea. The DRZ seems like the big choice on there. Just wish it was at least a 500. Hell, I may have this frame left over and the engine. Could build a SM....ha

I can tell you the DR650 is hella fun...it pulls big make the beast with two backs off wheelies  [evil] the 400 is a BLAST too though, you'd be surprised if you haven't taken one out yet.

I've done no research at all but that looks like a super modern trials bike. Wasn't Ossa always known only for Moto-X and Trials?  If so, that's no comparison to a road ready super moto what-so-ever. Still a nice bike but it's not even apples to oranges.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Don't knock the little DRZ's. I ride with one now and then. On the straights the GSXR-R*-CBR-ZX bikes flat run from it, in the twisties though, it is a whole other story. Nothing like being in a full-lean, knee down, 180 degree hair pin on a 600 sport bike and being flat out wasted by a guy on a dirtbike with street tires LOL. He can still roll right along at 90 MPH on the flats though without redlining it.
