single sided swing arm conversion? Possible?

Ok. Quick & dirty question:
Would it be possible to convert my 2002 750 from the standard swinarm to a single sided swingarm like some of the later model S2, S2R bikes.
Has it been done?
Anyone know if the frames are consistant between the two swingarm styles... meaning the way in which the swingarm interfaces with the frame?
Say for intance I found a swingarm, rear wheel complete with accessories such as sproket and brake from a wrecked bike.
Just curious. Its sort of my fantasy mod floating around in my brain right now. Maybe unrealistic, as it would liklely be cheaper to sell the 750 and go for the S2... but that won't happen, sooooo...

Do-able? Yes.
Cost-effective? Hardly.
Worth it in the end? Debatable.
In addition to swapping the rear suspension over from an S*R bike (Which does bolt on BTW), you'll need:
an entire new exhaust system
a way to convert 4 speedo signals to 6 so that your gauges read the right speed
the S*R swingarm pivot shaft
S*R rear-sets
and it will leave you with two bolt holes on the frame for where the old footrests bolted to (maybe have to grind them off and refinish the frame)
Best exhaust is the Quat-D for your swap because there is no frame tab on your tail to mount canisters to.
IMO: Sell the M750 as-is and buy an S2R800. More power and the conversion is done.

Yeah. Sort of what I thought.
No way the 750 is going anywhere. Too many memories and too much family history associated with it.
I guess I'll just have to dream.

I've always wanted to swap the swingarm on my 695 ever since I bought it, but then I found the streetfighter (or it found me, either way) and realized my 695 is happy as-is. The SSS does look really frikkin cool.
