I unfortunately notice everything, good and bad, so I'm surprised when others don't see the same things.

i say stop by mcsorley's. order a round of light and a round of dark.
look at the place and then move on. do this on a weekday though. weekends are tough to get in.

if you meet pakhan, kick him in the shins before he kicks you.

+1 on mcsorley's, just don't touch anything  ;)

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Tizzy - Give him the name of the restaurant you sent Tiff and I too. But then again, that is more of a couples spot, so maybe not the best place for some dudes to go, but damn make the beast with two backsing good food and very well priced.

If you want to go to a nice lounge bar, I'd hit up the Cellar Bar at the Bryant Park Hotel, which is of course in Bryant Park.

We actually stayed at this hotel too, just got lucky on Priceline. It is a very modern hotel, seems to be where the fashion industry stays when they are in town as the hotel has this weird vibe and decoration.

It was easy for us to get into the Cellar Bar as we were hotel guests, but tended to be quite a que out front for non-staying guests.

Bottle Service was actually reasonable. I want to say we got a Liter of Absolut Vodka for 185-200$, which wasn't bad considering drinks were 13-15$ a piece.

Hit up the local NY board. There are some great guys over there that will surely meet you for a drink.

I love going to the Blarney Stone bars. They tend to be a little "less flashy" and a make the beast with two backs ton cheaper.

I love visiting Manhattan.

If you want a great canoli and espresso, go to Cafe Roma in Little Italy. It's hard to find since it is being overrun by China Town :(
