All.  I'm from Iowa too.  This picture of T with the S4rs and K1200 were from a ride him and i did ~6weeks ago when i visited him.  I rode that bike up that mountain that day, and the K12 back down.  T is one of the nicest and coolest people you could ever wish to meet.  I got the unfortunate call from his wife this morning about the accident...  i still don't think it's sinked in yet. I've spent a good part of the day notifying some of our fellow riders in the area about what's going on while i've been trying to keep in touch with the family.

I can't even imagine how horrible this would have been to be a part of.  Obviously, thoughts and prayers out to ALL people and families involved.

Me and another Ducati rider from Iowa are still planning on coming to AZ Apr 8-11.  we were planning on a motorcycle ride, but now we are ready to help T through his recovery and get them ready to come back to Iowa for the Summer.

T, WISH you a SPEEDY recovery!  Call as soon as you are up for it.  I'll be seeing you in less than 2 weeks.  hope you're ready to join me with a bottle of Tequilain 13 days!!!!

Kindest Regards,
AK

My condolences and prayers go out to the family of the slain.  Slain because I too believe texting, talking (unless on hands-free) and any other distractions should be banned as well.  IMO the driver should pay, after all he has a previous record and violations.  No matter what the consequence to the driver those lives are irreplaceable and in the end this is all that matters.

Yea, the drivers record doesn't look too good.  Why was he allowed on the road with so many previous tickets & violations.

RIP - very sad.

Remember everyone, this is life on a motorcycle. As horrible and avoidable as this incident was, people die.

There's a splitting ordinance under discussion in AZ at the moment, this accident is being held up as a reason why splitting stopped traffic should be permitted.

It was just on the local news here in Phoenix: The driver of the truck was on illegal drugs at the time of the accident. The news was not specific what drugs he was on however.  This now means he will probably be charged with vehicular homicide. Rightfully so.

There is a place to make donations for the families on their meetup page on the left hand side.
