Hello Duc Friends! I'm based in the states and am working with a client on a one-word name for one of his new products that will be offered globally (as are some of his current products). Rather than using just Google translate, Etymology.com and late night conversations with friends with tasty beverages, I thought I'd ask to see what kind of terms (proper or otherwise) you use for a bag, a pouch, satchel, etc. This will be for a companion product that is compatible with all his other products. (I've been researching "companion" and "bag" in other languages but thought I'd ask if you have any other words that you use. Many thanks! ![chug](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/beerchug.gif) Stella

Swag
That would be well received in Australia, especially from a foreign company ![Angry](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/angry.gif) Stella, what type of things would be carried in this thing ... I am unfamiliar with what you carry in a 'Fancy pants nancy boy bag'. I need a bit more context.

If this "Bag" is for both sexes you could call it a "THINGO"
A bag to put your things in.
There you go! I even came up with the slogan.
Other option is you could call it "wife" for the blokes bag. (just thinking out loud) he he

....And the ladies could call their bag a "Sack". The blokes could call theirs a "Man Sack". ![laughingdp](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/laughdmf.gif) The "Swag" is huge, and you also sleep in a swag. Could give people the wrong idea. Good luck with it. ![waytogo](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/waytogo.gif) P.S. The "Thingo" sounds like a good idea. Very clever. ![Grin](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/grin.gif)

From my friend: "What's a 'companion bag'? Like a boyfriend? Or wife?" Other option is you could call it "wife" for the blokes bag. (just thinking out loud) he he
Some people.... ![Grin](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/grin.gif) The bag is being designed to fit a laptop. This laptop bag will be fastened to the outside of a commercial-grade, larger (companion) bag. What differentiates these "bags" are the construction, fabrics and purpose for the relatively small number of consumers in a particular sector (non-moto). Sorry but I can't give much more than that. Preference is one word, without any preconceived, negative connotations. We've been playing around with several Swahili words but I don't want to limit ourselves to that language. How is "swag" considered negative. Our definition is basically free, cheap merchandise. Thanks again! ![waytogo](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/waytogo.gif)

Not negative at all. When my husband goes away off roading he sleeps in a "Swag". It's like a roll up mattress with canvas exterior like a small low tent. Probably not relating to a satchel for carrying a computer? This could confuse people a bit. ![Huh?](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/huh.gif)

I think if you watch some Seinfeld episodes you could surely find an American word for such a bag. good example is the "Manzier" that Georges father Frank came up with. (for the man who needs support) ![laughingdp](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/laughdmf.gif) that still cracks me up. Like the Comsac idea ![waytogo](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/waytogo.gif)
