Hi All,

I just bought a Termi carbon exhaust kit (cans, ECU, & filter), and was wondering if this is something that I can install myself or should I have the dealer do it?

I had the Dealer do mine during my first service while I went and had my nails done.  ;D

It's a great mod by the way, you will truly enjoy it.

OK, I'll try to find a nail salon near the dealer.  [roll]

i really can't believe that dealers are charging to put the kits on. for the price they are they should install them free. what it take 30 min max and 20 of that is to remove and replace the tankskins and fuelcell.

If you can play legos you can install an exhaust.

The discount my Dealer gave me on the Exhaust was way more than the hour labor they charged for the installation (and my nails looked great afterwards also).

I bought the kit online, so of course they're gonna charge.  Where can I get some how to instructions?  Looked online, didn't see anything.

ok there are three parts, three steps to this.
exhausts, air filter and ECU
the air filter and ECU reside under the tank skins. the ecu under the fuel cell
someone recently put up a video showing how to install pigtails for a battery charger. that's how to get to that area
the airfilter is simple, take the old one out put the new one in.
the exhausts are 2 bolts and 2 springs. plus swapping out the exhaust shields.

*make sure you unhook the battery before swapping the ECU

Maybe 45 mins if you're slow like me.

How much do the dealer charge for this anyways? For less than an hour of work, i think its not worth it to let em do it.yes?

Check warranty stuff first.  I think dealer installed warranties termi exhaust kit for 2 years and only 90 days (?) if self installed.   If its a quick job might pay for peace of mind.
