I just got back from a nice 300 mile ride and when I got home (NYC) I was in traffic for a little while as I made my way to my garage and the engine kept stalling whenever I pulled the clutch in...unless I twisted the throttle a bit. The RPMs just couldn't stay up. The engine temp was normal - probably 240 once I got off the highway and it crept up to 270 or so when I finally got to the garage. Last summer I saw it hit 290 a few times so I don't think heat is the issue.

What's the deal? Is this the 695 ECU problem I've read about before? I did hit some rain today, but not much and it's been fine in the rain before so I doubt that's an issue, is it? I noticed some slight surging on my ride today too- but I didn't think twice about it until I got into traffic and it actually died on me...like 10 times.

I would hope that any issue is covered under warranty but before I call the dealer, I figured I should ask you guys!

Any thoughts?

That's a long enough ride to heat up the fluid in your clutch line.  If the fluid has a trace of water in it, as can happen, the heat can boil it making a steam bubble.  Then it acts like their is air in the clutch line, which will act just like you describe ... incomplete clutch disengagement.  Take another ride after it has had time to cool and see it acts better.  Either way, the first thing I'd try is a good clutch fluid flush.  This doesn't sound like any of the 695 "problems" I'm aware of.
