I'm looking for some information/pictures of a superbike-esque Ducati frame. Its a custom builder's, has a triangular gusset with holes heading towards the swingarm pivot area. The trellis has a curved tube in the middle (lower bar) as well. Tube steel, not titanium. (No arcfab, sorry).

The rake is non-existant on this frame, too, but that's getting changed. A friend has just picked up one of these frames and we were talking about it as I looked it over - it looks very familiar, but I can't remember where I've seen it. The headstem had the name of the frame shop (can't remember today) and a serial # of 1003, so apparently this was bike frame #3 of this line.

I didn't grab a pic, because I thought the description was pretty unique. Shout out if you know anything about it, I have a question or two, which might be solved if we find some pictures of them fully assembled.

Is this one the famous line of bikes that ended up with tire-touching-head problems because of rake?  laughingdp laughingdp

Probably. It looks unrideable with the steep angle.

Yes, it looks very similar to that. Not quite as swoopy through the middle. The gusseted section looks the same, but there's not smaller holes to mount rearsets.

Ah, I've seen El Mat's frame there before, this one is different. Red, cherry bomb (dual) high mount exhaust, 748 swinger, '94 900 2v motor in it, 748 tank, and a really sweet monster cowl blended with superbike seat.  The gusseting on the frame area has big holes (that reduce in size as you move vertically), but none of them are for rearsets... (That's what I'm here for - to figure out how this was accomplished before. i see now, that many of those bikes HAD some small holes for rearset attachment. Not so on this bike).

I'll bet that's frame #1004   Wink

The style of the frame is the same -it's just a little different.

You'll find it here:

It's the last one in the 'Various Images' folder.

See how that one's gussetted section has big holes that decrease in size, and then a set of little holes for the rearsets? the one i'm staring at does not have those. i'll grab pics by week's end.
