I'd like to invite you all to some upcoming (Marin) gigs with my band "COMPARED TO WHAT": We will be returning to the PANAMA HOTEL in San Rafael this coming Wednesday evening 4-7-10...AND on Sunday 4-11-10, we will be appearing at the Sleeping Lady in Fairfax. It could be a nice stop after a late afternoon ride! (details below)
COMPARED TO WHAT . . . is my contemporary, funky jazz group that plays soulful, melodic rhythm-driven grooves. CTW’s original compositions recall soul-jazz classics by masters such as Les McCann, Eddie Harris, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock. Cover tunes, both recognizable and undiscovered gems, the listenable and danceable mix. With Rob Lyons on guitar, Todd Bryson on vibraphone, Josh Biller on drums and yours truly on bass. Also joining us will be the very noteworthy Colin Gleason on tenor and soprano sax. We hope you can join us!
