This is a pretty good comparison between the abs and non-abs monster.

Too me this justifies the upgrade price for ABS for me. I know a lot of you with excellent riding skills and experience can effectively brake in a panic situation and not crash, but I don't ride a lot and am a newer rider so ABS would definitely save my butt!

I watched it without audio so I couldn't tell whats going on.  In the end, was he comparing the breaking power with his helmet, and how much further it is to stop without abs?  If so, that's a huge difference!

i wonder how hard it is or if its possible to add ABS to an 09 m1100s

The helmet was a marker for the shortest braking distance he made with the 1100S, he made the other stops with the 1100 ABS, each one was shorter as he gained braking confidence. He made a point to do the test on a wet, dirty piece of road!

I would imagine that it would be hard to beat the $500 upgrade price using new parts?

I think it can be pretty beneficial if you ride a lot in wet weather, but other than that...still good, but I don't know the cost to benefit ratio.

pretty impressive. I wish my bike had ABS.

Same here..
But I would never buy the new style..
So if they come out with an upgrade kit for the old ones, I am totally getting it.
And I would also pay 1500 or more if it would work that well.
Its about time.
