If one was inclined to use a CR style or other front fairing (race - no headlights) on a SBK (748/916/996/998 style frame), could one simply bolt up a newer generation Supersport fairing stay?

I suppose my question is best boiled down to this: Without much effort, can a person bolt a supersport fairing stay to a 748-era frame?

I've got an SS fairing bracket here, not sure the vintage.
And a 916 here.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't bolt up.
But it could be made to fit without too much effort.

as long as you've got the plate for the SS bracket to attach to, you can fit it.  the SBK has "a" plate, maybe cut it off and weld a new shaped one?

the CR type fairing also attaches to the frame though on the sides.  there are L-shaped pieces which screw into the frame and the fairing attaches to.

Right. Don't think the front fairing I'm planning on using goes all the way to the frame, but if it does, I'll make sure to fab brackets before the frame goes to powder.

So it looks like, grab the SS "race" fairing stay, and any 748/916/996/998 era stay, chop/swap and weld.

I didn't know if they had just design the mounts on the headstock to be uniform across the lines.
