Funny, I was talking to Paige yesterday (as in PJ Parts Paige) and she's now riding a Street Triple. I told her how close I was to buying one last year. I test rode the M1100 and couldn't find a place to let me ride a Triple street/speed or otherwise, so the M it was.
Paint it black and you are GTG. Nice bike

Love the Triumph triples.
I've got one of the last T595 bodied Daytonas. BAsiclly the Speed Triple with more bodywork. It, and my Monster, are the two bikes that I can't ever see selling.
I've pretty much been told the newer 675 Daytona will kick the crap out of it, performance-wise. I just don't care. I've been through too much with this one (close to 45000 miles ridden. Cross-country, Seattle to Daytona Beach, TWICE). It's a terriffic bike.

She is a beaut. Love the daytonas but my back can't handle that posture for too long.
Yeah, I love the monster and just don't see me parting with it. Like you, monster 620 - she served me well.
I am getting ready to ride S3 to D.C. memorial weekend for some work related stuff. Last trip to D.C was with the monster, now the S3

I am glad I did not go with the street triple. I know I would have regretted it. As for painting black, that will have to happen hopefully next season if the funds are available. Priority is getting rid of those stock pipes.
few pics -

I've got a Daytona and a Monster S2R1k. The difference between the two bikes is pretty insane, though not unexpected given that the Daytona is a true sportbike. I really like going from one to the other (except for the monster being GP shift and the Daytona being standard) and getting to feel the shift in personalities. On the Monster I've got clip ons mounted under the triple and it still feels really upright when compared to the Daytona. The Monster feels much more raw as well, though that could be because mine is a long way from stock and the Daytona is completely stock. I think the Monster is also quicker, but that could be just me being more comfortable on it, they are both dangerously fast bikes.
Great choice on adding the Triumph to your collection. Enjoy.

all you need are some arrow pipes....
stock sounds like a freaking vacuum cleaner....
just did the 12,000 miles service on mine, bought new in 12/ 05....
absolutley ZERO issues/ problems....
oil and tires, thats it....

[lazarous7] Nice stable you got there.
I hope i can somehow hold on to both.
[fastandlight] You are correct. I am very comfortable on the monster albeit a 620 but need to be careful now and not dis respect her and get in trouble. It is just a different ride with no comparison. I just realize how underpower it feels now. But monster gets flogged constantly.
It will have to be an arrow. Ideally I would like the 3 to 1 and then get rid of the passenger pegs all together. Just hoping the funding will come through. Otherwise, slip on. So true on the vaccum cleaner sound.
I am hoping for less maintainance on her. I moved the handle bar down a bit but now that I tried that, I will put it back the way it was.

I was thinking more sewing machine...but we are all on the same page here. Stock exhausts suck.
Have you guys seen this one:

I think I might go with that. It just looks so badass.
I took off my passenger pegs Friday night. I need to order a cowl for that passenger seat, an integrated tail light, a new braket for the plate, and some GP shift rearsets so I stop having to think so much when I shift.
Yeah...and I bought the Daytona to keep her stock so that I could have a bike to ride while tinkering with the Monster.

I would be interested if you decide to get that pipe to find out how it sounds. Not familiar with it personally. It does look bad ass and of course the position will do wonders for the female passenger, so you may have to put the passenger pegs back on
Monster has been tinkered with a lot. PCI commander, ferraci kit, rizoma light, dp pipes , cf stuff here and there, pensky suspension. I will not be anything like that on the S3 due to funding and really I don't want to also
. The three priorities are pipes , grill protector cover for the radiator (rural roads we go to got too many gravel etc on some spots) and rear fender to protect the suspension reservoir. Seems reasonable things to do I suppose without going overboard.
A friend of mine with S3 fabricated from computer case the license plate relocation

Picked up Arrow pipes for it 3 to 1. Not as loud as I hoped but better than stock. Need to have it re-mapped again as she is shooting out fire like crazy.
