Since I have used so many of the bikes on here for help in modding my own, I figured it was time to start a threaD to show the progress so far, nothing out of the ordinary, mostly bolt on parts but I think it looks pretty sweet so far.

Here is a crappy blackberry pic of the bike broken down for powder/ceramic coating, updated pics to come once I have it all back together.

I won't bother writing any "how to"s on my mods, any questions just ask.
Hope you like it

FINALLY was able to get some time to put the bike back together.  Here are some pictures of how it came out.

List of Mods so far:
- Rizoma bar end mirrors and bar ends
- Reservoir cap covers  (from ebay)
- CW fender eliminator (powder coated black)
- Integrated tail/brake light
- LED bolt license plate lights
- Carbon Fiber front fender
- Powder coated : top triple tree, risers, CW fender eliminator, exhaust brackets, heat shields, rear sets, head light ring
- Ceramic coated exhaust headers

Future mods (open for some other ideas as well):
- remove reflectors and vinyl wrap forks
- cover frame decals with vinyl
- fork mounted front blinkers (kind of expensive though, so any other ideas would be much appreciated)
- exhaust? not sure yet, possibly CC the cans, possibly wait for boom tubes, any other ideas?
- powder coat handle bars, or go with rizoma black bars
- change out grips
- poweder coat foot pegs (not sure how this would hold up though)
- spray paint brake housings black
- and the project for next winter - powder coat the swing arm to match the rest of the bike (if i can figure out how to get it apart)

you mean handle bar riser? what brand? does it make contact with tank cover at full turn?

KStock11

I powdercoated the stock handle bar risers so there is no change in the turning radius, no contact with the tank

Realized the pictures came out pretty small so here are some larger ones:

What vinyl are you going to use?  Got a link? I'm looking for black out my forks, too.

Thanks!

Looks great, I too wish to black out my midnight duck, where did you get your Ceramic coated exhaust headers done and how much.
Have you looked at Rizoma for black handle bars.

Lookin' good  [thumbsup]  Just one small suggestion, while you're figuring out what front turn signals to go with, why not remove those US-market-only spacers from the between the stockers to "tighten" up the look a little?

Plus.... I sent you a PM  :)

The vinyl is Oracle 851, I found it on one of the forums here.  However, I recently came across some carbon fiber type vinyl that I think would look pretty sweet on the forks but it is kind of pricey, here's the link:

I got my pipes CC'd and all the other stuff PC'd at Powder Coating Alternatives in Greenland, NH. Total for everything was $400, I think the pipes alone were around $200.

I tried to shorten these up when I had the headlight taken apart for PC'ing but couldn't figure out what size bolt I needed to replace the stock bolt.  Do you know the specs of the bolt that would work without the spacer?

I've persoanally used this stuff on my 696 forks and it works extremelly well...

I'd never thought of covering my frame decals with it tho as the original poster suggests...great idea! I have some left over so I may just do that...

How is your vinyl holding up?  I always wondered if they are susceptible to rock chips and UV.

Use the bolts from the rear turn signals.

I've only got about 600km on the bike with the vinyl but I haven't noticed any rock chips. According to the manufacturer of the vinyl it is coated with a UV proctective layer and is supposed to last 9 years.

Here's a blurb from the e-Bay ad...

-When applied correctly to the appropriate hard surface the film is very durable and scratch resistant.
-When heated and stretched it can be applied to extreme curved surfaces with a little patience and work.
-The film is coated with a UV protective layer which will last up to nine years outdoors.
-Once applied and bonded to your surface you may clean it and polish it with any type of cleaning agent that is used for painted surfaces.
