I always thought it was supposed to be served hot/warm.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Oldfisti

Ahhh.

I've only ever had it heated and served with cold sushi.

I still need to try me some of that shochu sometime.

I don't want to turn this into a sake thread, but there are many different types of sake just as there are different types of wine or beer. In the same way that different wines or beers are most appropriately served at different temperatures or that one wine or beer might be best at different temperatures for different purposes, sake is served at different temperatures for various reasons.

Incidentally, since sake is made from grain rather than fruit it's much more like beer than wine.

I like hot sake on a cold night and cold sake the other 80% of the time.

Best sushi I had was in Japan (like that's difficult). And even the cheapest there was on par with an average place in the states (both coasts, up and down various establishments). I've had horse sushi and whale sushi (too much ginger). I dont' really have a favorite type. Most of it depends on what I feel like that evening or afternoon. various tuna cuts are a good staple. Salmon can do most any time. I like eel (both salt and fresh water). standard rolls work well. But, tend to prefer nigiri these days.

They even have sushi here in Djibouti. There's 2 places in town. If you know Djibouti, you'd find that shocking. I went to the new place on Saturday before go-karting and the sushi was decent. It's really expensive though.

nigiri is the bomb!

and, afaik, the only sake you would want to drink warm would be cheap junmai... any of the higher quality stuff (esp. daiginjo) is better serves slightly chilled (but not cold)

Charlief

Geez...spit sake all over someone and they never let you forget about it.

Y'all be freaks. Fish should be fried.

thank you!

i have never figure out what my dislike of sushi stems from...

its either the STUPID high price, or the fact that its not char broiled on a grill
