I'm in the process of moving to 'Burque from LA and my plan to do it in one day has gone out the window, so I'll be breaking the trip into two parts.  LA to PHX, and then PHX to 'Burque.

Anyone got a couch I could borrow for a night?  Bonus points for a safe driveway to park my van...

PM me here, or call my cell tomorrow 818-421-6869

Sorry all.  I underestimated the amt of crap left to pack and do today so that means a bonzai run tomorrow direct from LA to ABQ.

I'll be passing through though in a few weeks and will have more of an opportunity to post up in advance.

Looking forward to meeting some of y'all!!!

I know!  It makes the 5 in CA look like a good twisty...

At least my climate control and CD player work in the van...  Tongue

OK..I just sent that PM without looking at this first.

Have a safe trip Stu!

Packing more sh*t..it always seem like I underestimate the amount and time. You think I would learn after I've done this..how many time now?

*in the last 3 1/2 years alone!!  Wink

Maybe see you on the next run.

Firstly, Why NM?
secondly, If you head through tucson, you'd be more than welcome to crash here. My girl's mom lives there and we make it in about 6ish hrs when we stop for food.

that, or you could shave some time off and drive straight through on 40 the whole way (15 N to 40 E, 12 hrs later you'll be in 'querque) I've got some people you could stay with in Flagstaff if you needed to crash....good luck with the move!

He's got a new job there and moving to be close to his daughter.

Besides, nothing wrong with NM.

And Tucson is different?  Roll Eyes

I've lived in ABQ, and PHX, and Las Vegas.  I also traveled to Tucson quite a bit for work for nearly three years.

I'd pick ABQ.

And if you've not been to Northern NM (basically north and west of Santa Fe), it's gorgeous.  But that's just MHO too.

Oh no, tucson is the same, I hate it here, it's where dreams go to die. I've been to sante fe and it's cool, I like Taos a bit better, but realistically unless you've got money or are an artist you cant really live there.

Northern Az is great too (Sedona, Flagstaff) but I don't have the money to live there, nor do the cities have the means to support a large economy.
Stew is being a family man, and I can respect that, I'm just not a fan of ABQ. But you're right. of those choices I'd pick ABQ too  chug
