Installing Rizoma LED turn signals - NEED HELP
«

hey everyone. i bought the rizoma zero 11 turn signals for my 696. the guys at rizoma said that you can switch the bike to use LED turns on the dash since they come with incandescent bulbs stock. i can't find anything in the manual though. is this an automatic thing, has anyone installed the rizoma or ducati led turn signals?

Switch to LED mode within the dash?? Um.. this is a new feature to me. Dont think your information is correct there. But that you dont need anything else is probably (almost) correct. You're right, 696 stock turn signal connectors are - from memory - a 2 pin square plug-in connector whereas your new Rizoma turn signals come with universal bullet connectors. Obviously something has gotta change there, if it were mine I'd be replacing the Rizoma bullet connectors with those that match the bike's stock wiring rather than the otherway around.
Maybe do a search for "LED turn signals".... plenty to choose from, here's just 3 that I found (which may or may not be of use to you, i didnt read thru em all).

I found these adaptors on ebay. basically a female bullet to male 2 wire. he says they fit the 848, 1098 and 1198, but he's not sure about the monster. does anyone know if the monster has the same type of connectors as the other bikes? if so i think this would work. otherwise, i could cut and splice 2 wire connectors on the blinkers. anyone know where i can find the 2 wire box connectors online?

i got rizoma turns for my monster and they are the best complete kit ever.
They include more than you need for one application so read the fold-out included.
It should let you know which black boxes you need and which you dont
*mine came with 2 boxes per turn, but i only needed one

my rizoma's aren't a complete kit because the connector styles are different.

Ducati changed the turn signal connector style on the 696/1100.
all the previous bikes had a bullet-style connector, the new ones have a square plug
all the aftermarket signals i have seen have bullet (or no connector).
some splicing would be needed , or that ebay connector looks like it would work

yeah i think that ebay connector is correct, and splicing isn't so hard. let us know how it goes. I may order a set of these. (are the signals really 2 inches wide??)

I think there are other Ducati models that have the LED/standard settings on the dash. Maybe the superbike or something.
The best thing to do is just commit to the change. Cut the connectors off the old turn signals and splice them on to the Rizomas. If you change your mind, splice the connectors back on to the old signals - easy peasy. While you're splicing, make the wiring as short as reasonable so you don't have to hide a huge bundle somewhere on the bike.
Make sure you use the black boxes, if your model comes with them. On my 1100, I used two resistors per side, which handled both the front and rear pair without fast flashing.

I installed two pair of Rizo Zero 11's on my 1100 over the weekend. I have a CW eliminator. The rear was the most difficult, mostly because of the CW and doing this project solo. The front was simple, but the cofin shaped spacers are required. PJ's sending me a pair this week then I'll post some pics.
Thanks to bigjilm for his tip on doubling the boxes in the rear. They look incredible and the function is flawless.

I only used 1 resistor per side on the back and did not have the fast flashing front or rear. One resistor plus the black box on each. I used the directions for the HMotard per the manual.
