Anyone have suggestions on where to get tires installed (or delivered and installed) in SoCal?  Been going to the dealer for the last few sets but selection is limited and prices are not so good.  Thx

Believe it or not, I've had very good luck buying & installing tires @ Del Amo......... I wouldn't do any other service there but I've found them to have great prices & better yet, they install them while you wait.  Of course they'll try & sell you service you don't need but at that point politely decline & ride away with your new tires Wink

I think they only charge $20.00 to mount them & that's on the bike......which is a good deal if you're mechanically challenged like I am laughingdp

Actually, CycleGear has good prices and will install them for like 20 bucks if you bring them your wheels.

I'd recommend Nick for any and all service.

That being said, I don't know what he would charge for tires and mounting.  I don't think I've had him do that for me.

Speeddog, care to chime in?

--edit--

actually, Nick DID change a tire for me.  He had installed a Braketech front rotor on my bike and I had come down to the shop to pick it up. As I was taking her for a test ride around the block, I picked up a nail in my rear somewhere along the way.

Not only did Nick give me a ride home, ( luckily I had a spare new rear ) but he took the tire with him, put it on the bike.  waytogo bow down

bacon

Don't remember what he charged, though.

My local dirt-bike repair shop (well, one of the three within a block of my office) charges me $10 to mount and static balance a tire.  You might check with one in your area (in these parts, they outnumber street-bike repair shops 8 to 1).

I would but it's a question of distance, I'm in OC.

+1 on cyclegear. Also, just over Ortega hwy Temecula motorsports does it for $15 while you wait, but I'd call for selection first.

I've taken my wheels to cycle gear for a good 4-5 years but recently started taking it to spectrum.. they actually mount the tires for free as long as it is off the bike which makes it cheaper than cycle gear..

edit: also thought i'd specify, just in case, that you need to buy the tires from spectrum for the mounting to be free

I've generally got the same selection and prices as Cycle Gear.

Mount and balance $20 per tire, wheel off bike.
$40 per tire, wheel on bike.
