After a rough couple of weeks, we have decided to put our loving faithful sheppard/chocolate lab mix to sleep on tuesday.  She is 13YO and has had a great life.  Heres to you, lucy....  You are my best friend and  loyal companion.

It's what we sign up for and it's the worst part of being their guardian.   Like many others here, I know what you're going through. Big hug to you.....      :'(

As Stella sad this is the hardest part.  For me and my wife, the years of joy and laughter they bring remind us why we love our pets so much.  We lost our Chloe in February.  This certainly strikes a chord.  We will keep you and Lucy in our thoughts.

Really sorry for you.  I had to think long and hard about this element of dog ownership before we adopted Rufus last year.  I knew he'd bring a lot of pleasure, love, and mischief into our home, and we did it.  Hopefully you have a lot of great memories.
