lol  Yeah I hate the way those things look, but I'm afraid to buy something else and they not be very functionable.  This is my 1st bike and I want to be aware of all my surroundings.  Any suggestions???

CRG bar end mirrors, they are a little pricey but after having 4 sets of mirrors on two bikes they are the
best pair I have ever had. Great vision, no vibration and look great.

I have a small Mirrycle (http://www.mirrycle.com/) and it gives me a great view of the behind, and it's a simple and cheap one too! Get some smarter looking turn signals as well replacing them will make a huge difference (I prefer Kellermann but that's not the cheapest option).

I second the recommendation on the CRG bar end mirrors.  A little pricey but well worth the cost.  Your local dealership probably has them in stock.
