It's quite different. Everything is faster. Remember how you used to not do 5 minute rushes or it wouldn't count because that was the disconnect time? Well, you couldn't really rush any faster than 4 minutes anyway. Now I can kill a guy that doesn't know what he's doing in 3 minutes. I don't mean just, attack, I mean totally destroy. A person straight out of BW that isn't familiar with the new mechanics I'll take down in 5 minutes.

There's lots of macro now so you have to be jumping all over the place to do this and that. There are also a lot of units that become twice as strong w/ good micro. It really is designed to be an e-sport. The casual player ain't gonna get far against serious gamers but that's also why there's the different leagues. Sadly you're not guaranteed to play people in your same league so every once in a while you'll get a serious trouncing.
ErkZ NOT in SLO w/ his '95 m900!
The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

hehehe. i always loved the "NO RUSH" games.
generally by the time we were allowed to attack i had the ability to take out 2 opponents at once.

i'm looking fwd to relearning the game.

btw, please tell me the zergling are still completely disposable. my fave was to turn them into cracklings and make a hoard of them. they would still die very quickly, but theyre were so many of them that they took down almost everything they were set upon.
Life, alas is very drear. Up with the glass and down with the beer!

Speedlings are still awesome!  [thumbsup] And now they can morph into banelings (like scourages for ground units). You guys should watch the gameplay vids on youtube and the battle reports on the blizz site. That'll get you to pre-order now. I think you actually have a choice of Amazon or Gamestop to get into the beta right now.

I'll wait for the full release - but I won't buy the "collectors edition" - too much extra crap - just give me the game and let me wage war already!!  [evil]

I've been waiting since 1998!!!

By the way, since you've been playing it, are the system specs realistic or might it run on a slightly older system?

judging from the way the latest World of Warcraft (even less graphic intensive than SC2) ravages my 2 year old machine, i would say you may need an upgrade if your at 5 years or older... :(

i know i'm getting a new machine  for this. i don't want to miss any of the graphical goodness that is SC2
When all the land lays in ruin... And burnination has forsaken the countryside... Only one guy will remain... My money's on...

Yeah that's what I was afraid of.  :(
