Its so the little people end up saying things like, "I really admire that guy" while they live opulent lives off the backs of people who actually produce things for society.
Zactly.  I admire the French attitude to Royalty  [laugh] [thumbsup]

The only reason you guys think the royalty is worthless is because you're not a member.

It definitely would be cool to live in a castle; I'm not gonna lie about that.

Oh yeah, and have a nice 1098 and Ducati leathers to ride to my Polo Match.

It is worthless now as they serve no purpose in the government. The Queen has zero authority to do anything.

We weren't talking politics.

I think you're just jealous. :-*

That was no politics!!!

I just said they weren't involved  [cheeky]

As I said, yeah, it'd be cool to have a life of unlimited fortune, motorcyles, and late night pub trips.

However, this kid is fighting for his country.

I know it wasn't.

Personally I'd rather be a member of the Rolling Stones.

It's more exclusive...you have all the money you can spend...and are adored world wide. [thumbsup]

Raux

same things happened in the Falklands. Charles couldn't serve, but his brother flew combat missions as a Harrier pilot.
Those in direct line to be king, Charles & William and then whomever he has, cannot serve in direct combat, but they do join the military almost as compulsary service.

To me, the 1-2 year compulsary service should be a part of every society, whether you are a British royal, or a US Senator's child. AND it should be male and female like in Israel. There should be services that are non-combative, like a red-cross or peace corps, and police service should be included as an option.

And no end of constant scrutiny, photos etc etc etc.

They'll be crucified the first time they screw something up, and everytime after that.

Nate has it right-rather be in the Rolling Stones-no one gives a crap in Mick shags a dozen 20 year olds in a night. The prince? Yeah-no.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Just like being a celebrity.

It's hard.

I can't tell you how many papparazzi follow me around, catch me drinking beers, doing shots, smoking crack, etc.

It can be very trying on you.

Didn't Mussolini get murdered by his own people and pretty much mutilated through the streets?
