Chain question

Is there some magic milage number one should be keeping track of for checking chain tension and tightening?

I had the complete driveline swapped when I did my 12k, actually 12100 or so. Then at about 12600 I had new tires put on so I'm sure tension was adjusted accordingly. When can I be expecting a tightening job?

Just keep an eye on it, check it when you lube the chain, which should be about every 300 miles.
