2 valve 800 monster. i was quoted $1000 froma dealership over the phone, and $600 to $800 from independant Ducati shop.  I am in the Charlotte area...I expected 600 to 800 from Ducati of Charlotte...not 1000!

Depending on the spec of the valves, somewhere between $800-1,200 would be correct where I am at, the lesser being valves all in spec.

more along the lines of $600-800 here. I know some shop charges a flat exchange fee for $20 per valve adjustment (for shims). others charge $20 exchange fee PER shim...

If its the later, id walk away simply because its completely unfair. Shims are only $10 if you buy them from EMS, and they are suppose to be higher spec too. and if you have a lot of shims to change, your SOL. you are not only paying them to do the job, your also paying them to keep your old shims, which will probably go into another bike.

Did you even read the question? ;) I am not messing with anything inside a engine, that would be bad....very bad!
