im no ducati tech, but LT Snyder is a pretty smart dude. He
wrote a book on ducati maintenance that is incredibly useful.

He also sells parts that he uses on a website www.desmotimes.com

here is what he has to say about clutch slaves. he sells evoluzione for 175

NOTE: I only stock the 28.5mm piston size. The 30.5mm size requires too much lever travel and neutral and shifting are compromised. Stay away from the big-bore aftermarket slaves.

so you can believe him or not, it made me shy away from 30 bores and i am still running stock

I have an Evoluzione slave on my 2000 M900S. Approximately 14,000 trouble-free miles. Clutch pull is noticeably less firm, though definitely not wet-clutch soft. I have no experience with the competitors but can recommend the Evoluzione clutch slave. It's been a nice addition.

im going to go out on a limb and say that you dont always get that 30% reduction in clutch pull.
and if it aint broke why fix?

I would buy which ever one is in ur budget. they all seem to be high quality parts ,and the deisgn isnt that far apart for all 3 companies.

For the record i had a Yoyodyne in my previous monster, had no problems with it. and i have a stock one. I do have a evo unit on the shelf when i get around to installing it.

I've had a Yoyodyne on my bike for ~7 years and 30k miles.

Works perfectly, never had to touch it since install.

Just installed an Oberon Slave from MotoWheels.

It was $129.

It is a 29mm.

Lever pull is reduced from stock, but no where near as light as the wet clutch on my 695.

Photo coming soon.

I have a Yoyodyne as well.

+1 to what He man said, I never really noticed much difference in pull... It does look quite nice though ;)

I've had the EVR 30mm on my 1098 for the past 13,250 miles without a single problem, and I recently installed the Blue Oberon on my Multistrada which has worked very well in conjunction with the DucaBike slipper clutch for the past 700 miles (I've only had it a few weeks now).

We've been using, installing and selling slave cylinders for over 11 years. We've tried alot of them. The OBERON Clutch Slave Cylinder is our current favorite.
They are fairly simple to install, reliable, have an easier clutch pull and are easy to find neutral. The finish is very good. The price at $129 is very reasonable.

desmodiva - that is a sexy lookin slave there.  i actually acquired a brand new unopened yoyodyne "overthruster" slave from a member of the "other" site for $100 shipped.  couldn't turn that down.  i'll throw up some pics when i get em and thanks for the input . ..

How hard of an install is this.  Do you have to bleed the clutch (I have no experience with this) or drain and replace fluid?

3 bolts, yes, you will need to bleed, you should be flushing the fluid every year anyway.
