Does a power Commander tunig center have to be familiar with DUCATI?

I have a 03 M800 with Sil Motor slip-ons(Fast by Ferracci) , BMC air filter with a stock uncut lid and a power commander III. I had a cutom map built 4 years ago however I think it sucks. I dont really want to do the dyno tune again, maybe just a download for something similar. Does a tuner have to know Ducati's or is tuning a PCIII the smae for all bikes?

In theory it should be the same for any bike/car.

1. Load bike on dynomometer, secure and set up cooling fans
2. Insert exhaust gas probe
3. Link PowerCommander to computer
4. Make run(s)
5. Adjust per result of runs - repeat 4 and 5 as needed

Basically they are looking at exhaust gas numbers, HP and torque numbers and adjusting to meet certain criteria. They probably won't adjust for max power, as that usually found on the leaner end of the air/fuel mix - but the best combination of power and a realistic street air/fuel mix. As they work it, the power and torque curves can be smoothed to give the smoothest power delivery over the RPM band as well, by tweaking fuel delivery for any spikes, dips or flat spots they find during the runs.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
