Well that's one good thing about living in the Springs...

The MS is really growing on me..Wanted to get the monster out of the shop and home before the rain last week, so I didn't get to take it for a spin.

The beak bothers me, but I see me owning one soon.

I believe Ducati of Santa Barbara built those bikes, but don't quote me.   Here is a set of really pregnant dogin' pics off of their site.

I attended the unveiling at Ducati Newport Beach and was told the MS has 135 RWHP vs. 85 on the Hyper that won in 2008.  They also plan to use the traction control.  ABS I was told would be turned off.  Suspension set up by Race-Tec.  And I believe Brent at DNB put the bikes together (not SB).

I've heard rumors that a bunch of folks will be campaigning Aprilias.  And I believe the other Trachy brother will be bringing out the TM for another go at the overall record.

Should be an interesting year on the hill...

i am pretty excited, its the only time per year you are allowed to camp on pikes peak. I am totally going (where can you get camping tickets?) should be a great day overall.

edit: tickets are online, to camp on the mt is $100, plus gen adm tickets ($40)

isn't the whole thing paved now or something? what's to stop someone using a MotoGP bike?

Ya see the boulders on the pavement? :o Hit one of those at 50 + at that lean angle. It does look like he's drag'n a foot.

yep, and no, the top three miles is dirt, and its so curvy, i doubt a gp bike would be any faster, even if paved all the way, which it will be for next years race

Kinda ludicrous to have Racetech touch Ohlins goods...just saying.

Why? Ohlins can't be made better?

Not better then Ohlins USA could make it. They used RT on the hyper / pikes peak project and that has probably transitioned to this venture. The difference was the Hyper front Marzocchis had no aftermarket support and RT built a kit for them, a kit with less then stellar reviews. No good reason to have RT touch the Multi's Ohlins, should have let Ohlins take care of their own goods.

Great helmet cam video. Looking over the edge of the road at speed with no guard rail takes max pucker factor to a new level!!! :o Thanks for posting that! [thumbsup]

HBLiam,

Doug and the Ohlins boys can make them better, but the production forks and shock are pretty much junk... They dont have a mid valve in them, and they are pretty much widely known as "fauxlins"

Send them back to Ohlins, spend a couple of thou to make them proper kit, and you are ready to rock and roll.

The stuff that comes on the Ducs has ZERO input from Ohlins USA, and are built to a price. Ohlins USA doesnt get much budget for ventures outside, and racing pikes peak now that its a paved hillclimb, is kinda pointless.
