some pictures from Fan Fest downtown Colorado Springs. All three race bikes were in the Ducati Team booth (4 if you count the 2008 winning bike), as well as a 1098 engine display (moving parts too, very cool) and the local dealer with some bikes. Ducati was very well represented, two huge semis and all! The entire street, a few blocks long was full of booths and race cars. It was very cool. Cannot wait till Sunday.

for more info on the race divisions (yes there is a sidecar division) check out ppihc.com

Anyone got a line on TV coverage? I've found U-stream on the PPHC site... but I was hoping for some TV action.

A group of dealers and the Ducati Team made it up to the summit of Pikes Peak the day before the race. Is that Bonfi I see?

Here's a little more on it.  Man, that paint scheme is killer!

you should have seen more of the four wheel vehicles in that spot, quads doing 65 right there and cutting the cnorner so tight they're on gravel, semi trucks peeling out almost just as fast, and the "Monster" going off the road but saving it, spitting rocks into peoples windshields

here is the moster

car built specifically for this race, was a favorite for beating the ten minute time, didn't though, missed by 7 seconds i think

Amazes me four wheels are faster than two on PP.

Beautiful scenes indeed

Cool stuff,

On pavement, IMO 4 wheels are always faster than 2 when you talk about purpose built machinery for ex Moto GP vs F1 and the "Monster" posted above.
Off-Road- is still too close to call, dirt bikes and trophy trucks avg close to the same speed.
