Kari was my daughter's best friend.  She vacationed with us in Michigan, stayed with us here in Denver.  An absolute peach of a kid.  Newly married, expecting.  WTF.

The semi hit her car and another one at apparently close to full speed (photos on other web sites show 2 cars barely recognizable as motor vehicles) on a 95° clear day, dry road.  No excuse.  The semi driver has "multiple violations" on his license, including DWI and driving w/o a license.  An investigation is in progress.

I'm reluctant to post this as it's terribly sad.  The injustice of it, and the loss, are killing our family right now.  Please say a prayer for these folks.

That sounds too familiar to the manslaughter crash in Phoenix a couple months ago where a dump truck driver with multiple violations and on meth drove over 10 motorcyclist killing 4 of them instantly.

Terribly sorry to hear about your loss. There are no words that can make it right, but you're in my thoughts.


A local trucker killed a young woman outside of Buffalo, NY recently. He had only slept 4 hours over the prior 27 hours and had porn streaming on his laptop at the time of the collision. He plowed into her disabled car on the NY throughway. She left behind two children. It's absolutely senseless and there's no way to fix something that broken.

truly sad that so many people don't realize that driving around a car is the most dangerous weapon they will have access to on a daily basis and still so many people refuse to treat it with the respect and concentration that is required to operate a car safely.

We will keep all of them in our thoughts and prayers. Too many horrible stories out there. Too many young lives cut short. Just senseless. I am sorry. My family owns a trucking company, I have seen way too many accidents like this frst hand. Hits very close to home.
