Wanted to clean the injectors so I went w/ good old Seafoam.  Filled up the tank w/ fuel then put some in the tank, turned the bike on,  revved it for about a minute then turned it off.  Thing is there was no smoke coming from exhaust.  I know you are supposed to put some in oil too but I am going to do that separately cuz I heard its best to change the oil after adding Seafoam to it but I'm not ready to change oil just yet.  Is it true that you are supposed to put some in the air intake too ? Why no smoke when I revved it ?

it only does that if your sucking it directly into the engine via throttle bodies or vaccum port.

Ok, well, is putting it in the gas tank enough to get the injectors clean ? or do I have to put it in the vacuum port/directly into the engine ?   I didn't do this cuz I don't know how to get to the part of the vacuum port/engine to pour the seafoam into.  ;D

im not to sure if a motorcycle even has one. the vaccum port on a car is connected to the brakes and helps with braking. theres no such thing on a bike. so pouring through the TB is the only way, except, ive never done that on an injected bike. only on a carbed bike. i just dump it in your tank. Its better to get a concentrated amount into the engine, but pouring it into your tank over several tanks will be just as good. but it really doenst help if your engine is new. unless ur running really rich.

You can pour it directly into the TB's.  Do it with a nearly empty tank propped up, remove the air filter and pour a bit in.  The bike will want to die so you need to go pretty slowly.  This will clean the combustion chamber, piston, valves, etc, but do little if anything to clean the injectors. You want to mix it in the gas for that, and doing it regularly will help keep them clean. Putting some in the crankcase will help clean the oil galleys etc. but you do want to change the oil after.

Got it; thanks.  I'll probably pour some in a spray bottle and spray it into the intake as opposed to pouring it in.

Pouring Sea Foam through the throttle bodies will not clean the injectors since the Sea Foam is not going through the injectors, it will only remove carbon from the cylinders.  Use the Sea Foam in the gasoline if you want it to go through the injectors and use only the recommended amount.  Why are you doing this?  Problems?  Symptoms?

Had some fuel sitting in tank for almost 2 months w/ out stabilizer so thats my excuse; mostly just preventative though.

I used to use this stuff on my camaro back in the day.... It was also recommended to remove the 02 sensors before(if you have them) or replace them after... They supposedly can get clogged from all the crap exiting the engine
