Monsters, sport clasics, & 999 wheels

I know the subject of 999 wheels on the DSS monsters has been brought up before and the responce is normaly that it very difficult and expensive to accomplish.  I have been seeing alot of sport clasic pictures pop up latley with 999 wheels mounted.  My research shows that most aftermarket wheels for the monster also fit the sport clasic.  So I would think that the same method used to addapt the 999 wheels to the SC would work on the monster.  The correct spacers are available for the SC through http://www.performanceparts.de/
the speedo would need to be corrected for the 5 bolt rear rotor.  And it seems that the rear caliper mount and poss. caliper would be needed.  The only area I am unsure about is the front rotor spacing.  I know the 5 bolt rotors have a different offset then the 6 bolt rotors, the 5 bolt use a wider spacing so I dont think spacers could be used.  If anyone has any ideas on the front brakes I would like to hear it, aftermarket wheels are a little out of my price range, and the 5 spoke s4 wheels are few and far between used and expensive.

I think this all really depends on how competent you are and how much of this you can do/design yourself.  You're probably going to end up spending at least what you would on a decent set of 5 spokes.

It's also going to come down to what year you're adapting to monster-wise. People have done it, somebody on TOB did

good god why?  The 999 marchesinis are HEAVY unless you are using the forged aluminum or an aftermarket wheel to fit.

There is a whole thread of people who have done it to the sport clasics.  They only use the wheel spacers stock 999 caliper bracket and rotors from the 999 wheels.
There are lighter wheels out there but judging by taking the front wheel of my monster and the front wheel off my 848 that uses the same wheel as a 999, the 999 wheel is much lighter then the 3 spoke.
