DP ECU, Cam ECU, and deeper engine upgrade questions (S2R, DS1000)

Considering the number of Ducati Performance engine upgrades (and the ongoing ECU discussion), there's a burning question I have.

The DP ECU which is available with the Termignoni exhausts allows for an open loop system, and allows CO trim, etc.

I also see there is a performance cam set for the  DS 1000, 1100 motor which also includes an ECU.

I can only assume these are two different ECUs, one to take advantage of revised cam profiles.  If anyone can verify what the differences would be, please post 'em.

Also, is the "cam ECU" only able to allow an open loop system, and trim as with the DP exhaust ECU?
Thanks.

I suspect the 'cam' ECU is essentially the same, just different mapping.
No FHE, though.

Previous threadsd regarding a cheaper alternative to an ECU for the S2R1000 has lead to the cammed ECUs. People have bought the cam kits for the 1100DS (Hypermotard ~$700 i think) and just plugged in the ECU with minor tweaking of CO and TPS to get it run fairly well. It was the same as the Termi ECU just different map i believe.

Now if there is a Cam +ECU kit for the DS1000, that would be something to seriously try out. +8-10hp through out?

Well, I'm on the cusp of getting the Termi "slip-on" kit, so if the ECUs are the same, no need to get the cam kit too.

Soooooo, "if" Ducati would have the cams available separately, that'd be a nice "stage 2".  Or, sell the ECU from the cam kit when I get to that point.

So many mods, so little time.

the ecu is not the same mapping, just the same open loop type 5.9m with maps to suit a 1100 with differing mods.  i've been told by someone who emailed me dynocharts that the hm went better with the cams and the termi kit ecu, not the cam kit ecu.

i think you'll find the cams only are about $100 less than the cams and ecu kit.  buy the kit and sell the ecu to someone else.
