I'm looking to purchase my first bike but haven't had experience with Ducati and their track record for when they typically release their models.  I do know that the 796 is being marketed as an early '11.  Is the expectation that the '11 Monster 696 will follow shortly thereafter or even at the same time?  Is this why Ducati NA kicked into gear today's promotion? This event will directly impact the economic dynamic relating to the secondary market pricing of the bike in the immediate future.  I have the option of purchasing an '09 696 with 750 miles for roughly ~6500 from a private owner.  My MSF BRIC is not until late June/early July so I'm trying to figure out if waiting to purchase post-MSF is a prudent choice (economically).  Will I see noticeable depreciation month-over-month? With the impending widespread availability of the 796, do you expect to see a glut of 696s dragging down pricing?

Thanks for your time.
