MUTHERFATHERCOCKERSPANIEL...!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got another ticket this year...this time for "speeding" although the officer did not put down my approx speed on the citation...WTF?

But, that's not the topic here per se...HOW MANY TIMES have you been pulled over and /or ticketed in your career as a driver?

Ready, crack a coldy for this one... drink  Welcome to the Peoples Republic of California!

---disclaimer---I may have to edit his to ADD as memory serves, but here goes:

12 years old. Honda Mini Trail 50.   Driving on Public roads with an off road vehicle.  (no ticket)
16 years old. 63 Chevy Bel Air.  Pulled over for sunglasses hanging on the rear view mirror. (no ticket).
17 years old. 65 Chevelle Malibu.  Pulled over for flashing my reverse light as cop was driving behind me, I had a bright flood light off of a D8 tractor rigged to a switch for my reverse light.  Tongue  (no ticket, field sobriety test)
18 years old.  Honda 350R, street legal.  Pulled over for riding my girlfriend with no passenger pegs.  (ticket, fought and won).
20-ish years old. VW bug.  Seat belt ticket.  About the time the law took effect? (ticket, no contest)
21-ish years old. VW bug.  Driving down a one way street the wrong direction.  (ticket, fought and won...seriously, the muthermake the beast with two backsers changed the flow of traffic down this little side street with no clear signs to see, judge dismissed).
22-ish years old. VW bug.  Crashes bug making a left hander in the city, swears to this day the other driver popped the cherry. (no ticket, at fault).
STOPS DRIVING but goes to Connecticut to see a friend, he's high, I offer to drive and get pulled over for running a red. (ticket).
25 years old.  65 Chevy Impala two-door hard top, pregnant doges.  Pulled over for swerving in the hood.  (no ticket).
28 years old.  73 Triumph Bonneville.  Pulled over for "riding on the sidewalk", I was make the beast with two backsing parking it, San Fran style. (ticket, fought and won).
32 years old.  Monster 1K.  Crossing the double double yellow, speeding, etc.  (ticket for double yellow only, no contest, traffic school).
33 years old.  Monster 1K.  Speeding, ACH. (ticket, fought and won written trial by declaration).
34 years old.  Monster 1K.  License plate rake, Orange Curtain.  (no ticket).
36 years old.  2004 Ford 150.  Flicking a cigarette out the window.  (obvious ticket, no contest).
36 years old.  2004 Ford 150.  Crash on the 5, not at fault, glad to see Johnny Law that day... waytogo
36 years old.  2004 Ford 150.  "Speeding" and something about my lane changes...(ticket for speeding, WILL FIGHT, TOTAL BS).

Other juvenile incidents, without incident.
Skateboarding.  Broke into school gym to skate because it was raining.  Cops busted us, no ticket.
Graffiti.  Cops pulled over as we were tagging a Bus bench, they caught us and we denied it, no ticket.

Okay, so, I'm selling all my vehicles, only crossing the street when the "walk" sign flashes, paying my taxes on time and going back to Church.   bang head

WHO'S NEXT?   Grin

I don't remember nearly all of them, but I remember that by the time I hit 20 in Texas (driving since age 15), I had amassed around 25 citations.  Now, not ALL of them were traffic related (had a couple MIPs and some other nonsense), but my favorite 2 were:

1)  Leaving vehicle running while unattended.  Apparently, if you leave your truck running while you run in to grab a pack of smokes (and the only other person in the parking lot of the convenience store is a COP), that's illegal.

2)  Driving on the sidewalk.  I got annoyed with traffic and decided to use the sidewalk to go around a couple drivers who were particularly annoying.

Cali has nothing on Texas when it comes to BS traffic tickets and overzealous cops. There are some bored-ass state troopers out there.

...dood, i dont think the server has ehough memory to hold the list of tix i got Smiley

living in Rome means having to KNOW that you WILL have to set aside bet 200/300 euro a month for tix...

The system is soooo backed up, my father still calls me up to say that hes getting notices for tix i took when i still lived there  Grin ...4years ago!

Since i moved to the US the flow has drammatically slowed down altho it feels like the tix i get here sting much more...probably because i get tix here for things cops dont give tickets fro in Italy...and dont get them for things im used to get them for back in the old boot...

ANY-WHO

i dont have such a good memory but i think i got a total of 3 parking tix (since i moved to Venice/Santa Monica) and 4 or 5 speeding...(faught all of them and none on my record:))

age 16, day 1 of having a license.  hauling ass down some back road toward a friend's house.  cop.  he yells and screams, tells me that's it, my license is gone.  but doesn't give me a ticket.

age ~19, driving cross-country by myself, car full of stuff cuz i'm moving.  driving across the hell that is nebraska, finally realize there's lights behind me.  really nice cop but he tells me he's been behind me for miles.  lol.. woops, guess the rear view mirror was blocked.  he writes me a ticket, then says, "ok, follow me to the courthouse."  WHAT?  in nebraska you either pay on the spot or go see the judge on the spot.  i chose the former... he actually whipped out a credit card swiping machine.  crazy.

hmmmm...ok...where to start:

(note: this doesn't include the countless times we were harassed by the popo for skateboarding and underage drinking on vacant dirt hill tops)

15 years old. lighting firecrackers on an old burnt down lot. next thing you know, we're surrounded by cops. they make us walk backwards with our hands on top of our heads screaming at us. searched us face down on the ground. Turns out someone said we were shooting guns. Let us go, even after they found our bong.

17 years old. driving back to by dorm in Santa Cruz after a day of drinking. Got flipped off by the car next to me. Decided it would be a good idea to kick her car. I was greeted at the school entrance by 3 cop cars. According to the cop, "the good news is that you get to go home, the bad news is that you're going to have to deal with this later." she was right. After getting mug shots, finger printed and charged they let me go with a "vandalism with malicious intent" charge in addition to a restraining order.

17 years old. seatbelt ticket. not for me, but for my passenger. yes, they can ticket the driver as well.

18 years old. driving back to my dorm in Santa Cruz after buying some beer with my 23 year old friend. got pulled over after unknowingly taking part in an ABC sting operation. after confiscating my booze and giving me a ticket the sent me home. I decided to ignore that 'silly ticket.' after 2 years of driving on a suspended license and a warrant I realized how they didn't agree. they extended the probation I was already on and gave me a restricted license for a year.

18 years old. driving from Santa Cruz to LA. Got pulled over for 'allegedly throwing artichokes at a semi truck.' he let us go despite the bags full of artichokes in the back seat from our stop in Castroville.

19 years old. checking out of rehab with a call full of celebratory helium balloons. I pulled onto the 101, crossed 5 lanes at once got pulled over. after explaining I was just excited to get out of rehab he let me go. I pulled back into traffic as all of my balloons flew out of my sunroof and away they went.

19 years old. Speeding ticket PCH 62 in a 55. traffic school.

22 years old. pulled over on lincoln during a prostitution sting operation. oddly enough, there was nobody else in my car besides me. they embarrassingly apologized and let me go.

There are others, but those are some of the better ones.

16-  Santa Cruz doing dounuts in my high school paring lot while the driving instructor was teaching some students from my class in the school's Chevy Chevette laughingdp  Cop laughed too & gave us a warning.  Man I miss my 78 Trans Am.

Same year..... throwing eggs..... checker at the grocery store called the cops after we bought 5 flats of eggs.... guess she didn't buy my story about my Mom being a caterer.... cops were waiting at my buddies house.... warning & luckily my buddies dad was cool & didn't tell my parents.

17- My first moto VFR 700 get pulled over on HWY 17 headed towards Scotts Valley.... shaking like a leaf..... cop says he pulled onto 17 & 120 & we were pulling away Shocked  Ticket.  Traffic school.  Lesson learned.

18- Road trip to LA.... VW Cabriolet 3 guys & 2 cases of beer.... got pulled over in Buellton at Ave. of the Flags...1 guy passed out & 3 Taco Bell cups that smell like beer not to mention the un-opened beer under the blanket next to the pased out guy... cop gives my buddy driving all the tets & amazingl he passes..... just when we think we're getting off the hook, his partner comes around to the passenger side where I'm seated & says he smells beer......... just after that I cut the nastiest fart.... cop opens the door, his partner asks him what he smells, & he says:" It smells like $hit......." & he slams the door laughingdp  We still laugh over that one to this day..... the fart that saved a 502.

36-  Westbound on the 10 Suday morning 5:45 on my way to meet Lester @ Chevron...... cop lights me up @ 4th & gives me a ticket for 65 Shocked  Took the traffic school option as I hadn't been since tha first one back in 87.

Those are the highlights..... when I lived in PV I got pulled over every other night for driving red GTi late a night with dark windows..... apparently it wasn't nice enough to be driven in PV cheeky  That got old fast.....

Lots of warnings on the bicycle too but no tickets...... just alot of lectures.......

pulled over once for speeding down La Palma.  Guy let me off because I had a bunch of mountain bike stickers on the side of my car.

pulled over once on the way to Grand Canyon when I missed a limit sign.  Got off with a written warning.

yay me.  Having said all this, I'll need to be very careful in the next few weeks.. bad karma and all.
