That is a fast lap for a Zero. They are so odd to watch with breaking air as the only sound.

This is one of those things, like the TTXGP, that actually could spark significant investment into the electric motorcycle industry.
100 mph! That is just awesome.

cool but they should put playing cards in the wheels like we did as kids on our spoke tires.
also, how can you call it zero emissions? don't mean this as political either.

That 100mph goal reminds me of the quest to "do the ton" back in the 60's. It will be another milestone that will extend past its expectations.
My kids all have those Razor MX650 dirt bikes and a Razor go cart. All of which are batt operated. Maintenance wise, these things are great to have. Charge and go. I don't have to worry about if the gas sits to long or worry if its going to start after sitting for a month or so. There are some sacrifices to battery operated vehicles like short run times or the inability to just gas and go but for some applications it ok.

-1. It's not rubbish at all.
Zero emissions is
possible
from the vehicle. It can be run without using any power (assuming you have a set of solar panels on your roof, drive very little and don't use those solar panels to power anything else). So, is it zero emissions in practice? Nope. But it's possible, and that's something you can't say for an internal combustion engine in anything.
It's also much easier for the EPA to monitor a few powerstations per state to ensure they meet emissions than it is to monitor the three hundred million plus vehicles the US has on its streets.
Seriously, how many of us still have the emissions canisters on our bikes?
Electricity can come from a multitude of sources (oil being just one of them). So you're not tied to one commodity and its most powerful exchange: OPEC.

Here's a handful of pictures I took of the electric bikes.
They were tricky. Not as fast as the gas bikes, but if you got distracted they'd sneak up on you.

No such thing as zero anything. What did it take to make the batteries? Did they use coal to provide electricity for that plant or nuclear energy? The joke is on us who have believed there is such thing as clean energy source. You get dirty to get clean
