Were you on that beautiful black Multistrada?

Skyline is a nice road if you hit it when it is free of traffic and  Police

Yep! It was my first real ride on it since purchase and it really blew me away.

Only got one ticket!

Grin and  Cry all in the same message!

I'm glad you're enjoying the Multi.  At the risk of being a broken record, it's a great all-around bike, but just magical on the right roads.

Hopefully the ticket was a minor nick. Even for small tickets, going to court is worth some consideration.

Weds, got mildly poisoned by some sort of chlorine gas exposure. Some genius had the stunning notion of mixing bleach and something like Ammonia or an acid based cleaner in the bathroom of the place I was grabbing lunch.

A quick trip to the can for a leak left me with flop sweats, burning eyes, throat and lungs and coughing up a little bit of clear goop from the irritation. Put me on my ass for about 36 hours.

Yeah, so if you go in a place that smells like bleach, but a bit wrong, go some place else. The restaurant and a touch of bleachy, but not right smell as soon as we walked in. I happened to win the unlucky lotto by finding the source and getting a full strength dose.

That's messed up. Hopefully no lasting damage.

Doesn't seem so. Exposure was pretty short - Unfortunately longer than none. Since I'd committed to a course of action before I realized that the bathroom was the source of the gas/vapor etc.

Knocked me on my ass that day, and good bit of Thursday. But seems the effects are mostly gone now. Still tired - but not so much I can differentiate that tired from the new parent tired. Eyes are throat a still a tiny bit irritated, but improved.

So yeah don't play with bleach kids.

Rode the GS up to Michaux in PA: nice!  Grin  Discovered rt550 (off rt15), pretty well paved and good fun! Dolph

Only glitch was when Mr Garmin thought taking a "drivable trail" (Bricker Clearing Trail) would be a good idea. Here's what the road trail looks like.

If I had been with a group, I would have attempted it (SP? DC?  Evil) . But it was too much of a risk to go solo...  :'(  The rest of the roads were in very good (relatively speaking) condition. Didn't get as much respite from the heat as I had hoped, tho.

Did you cross yourself @ 2:15?

Yeah, that's the sort of road you want a buddy, or at least a SPOT and some resereve fuel bottles

Sure did! You can hear me saying it (in Sicilian): "Signu 'ra Cruci, 'u Signore m'aiuti". Literally "Sign of the Cross, may God help me". Ironically soon after I just said "f**k it", and turned around  Embarrassed

The area isn't so isolated to be scary, I wouldn't even have attempted it otherwise. Probably doable solo on a smaller 250cc bike. And the trail ends at the Penn State-Mont Alto campus.

My main concern was the effort required to move the (400lb) GS, getting stuck in the mud, having to leave the bike and walking (a mile or so, map here) back to civilization.

Having a buddy or two makes it much easier and safer: when one guy is stuck, the other(s) help push the bike and get sprayed with mud!  laughingdp

Shucked the Q2 and spooned on some Q3s. Installed a faster cam Throttle tube and new grips on the KTM. front tire, not so bad to break th bead. But that rear.... What a pain.
