Thought about adjusting the throttle on the Daytona. Finally did it and integrated the integrated tail light so I can lose the stock signals.

Wandered down to Nowhere, MD. [moto] Got lost, found myself, got lost again. [moto] Caught a few sprinkles of rain on the way home, hit a dry Harwood and had a little fun. [moto]

Artful

Finally around to replacing the leaky in-house water main valve. Now that I can easily shut water off to the house I have a few plumbing projects to take care of. Only downside was that the leaky shower valve that motivated replacing the main is now stuck further open. I get to use that brand spankin new main anytime I want to use water until my parts come in from Amazon unless I want a constant trickle in the shower. Girlfriend is thrilled. She'll deal.
Every time I meet a new group of your friends that understand you and your weird sense of humor I'm a little more amazed that there are other people in the world like you that lived through childhood - My loving girlfriend

Put the battery back in the Guzzi. Then I had to take it out again because I forgot a bolt for the side tool-box. Nothing like balancing a 20 lb battery, preventing the side box's door from swinging open and holding said bolt while trying to feed it through the backside of the box while ratcheting the nut on the other side without dropping the tools, hardware or battery. Only took 2 hours or so.

Wonder if the Guzzi guys consulted with KTM on battery placement...
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

not even close....I think Cagiva got the lock on that way before KTM....try doing some of the stuff on the Gran Canyon and look at how much insanity of disassembly you have to go through...

Not so much the placement, but a combo of the weight of the battery and the fact that one of the leads is really short. The Guzzi lump is based off a WWII Half-Track motor (so I 've heard) and no expense was spared on weight reduction increasment. It has a huge freaking battery that weighs a ton - lots of guys use some WalMart brand tractor battery).

Of course it's not like I had all year to replace the short lead with a longer one.

Really, if the battery had a handle at the top that would be great (it sits between the frame rails under the seat).

I'd opt for a smaller battery, but a) I'm not concerned about weight and b) It's nice to know I can jump start a Federation Starship if need be.

Sold some big torque wrenches to Jim who manage to appear at my place, on a bike with no bag, bungee or hope... Lucky for him a had some baggy things from a (runnung) race packet that were mostly big enough.

Hope you made to home with both wrenches and no incidents.

Yeah, yeah. At least I showed up with the important $tuff. Bag worked perfect...although the bigger wrench kept knocking me in the back of the head. Got some interesting looks along the way too.

Check out Full Spectrum Power... Jason can build you a battery that could start a car and is smaller and lighter than what you're running in there now. In full disclosure, I've done some work for him in the past so I'm "affliliated" with FSP, but I was using his batteries before I worked for him and he really does make a good product... and he's local (Reston). Everything made in the USA (including the cells). If you pick up this month's RoadRacingWorld, they did a comparison of lightweight, compact motorcycle batteries from a buch of different companies, so you have a lot of options, so shop around.

I'm not affiliated with him - and I have one of his batteries and it's a  [thumbsup]. There is a good bit more cost, but considering what folks pay to shave an ounce or two from a bike with some parts, the cost of the battery is a steal. They are so much lighter than a lead battery it's almost silly. They also have a smaller foot print than a lead battery, which for me was a bonus as it allowed me to hide my power commander, it's wires and such in the battery box as opposed to snaked through the frame and under my seat.

The one catch I've found is that they are more sensitive to cold temps and it knocks down the cranking power a good bit.
